I thought the same thing earlier in the year....
But after talking to some of the class 6 guys they gave some good point why there needs to be....

Other then the tadpole boat....
I can see there point that they would not be able to compete...
and looking at OPA vision of affordability and a entry class..
making them put in more power and run with bigger boats is not fair to teams that have but in alot of time and money to take that away from them..the small teams are the grass roots of the sport..and we cannot afford to loose any of them...

But I do see your view on it....15 to 18 Class 5 boats as the entry level 30' and under class...but we would loose most class 6 teams if that happend and then the class 5 will still have the same boat count as today...

I would love to see a class 5 battle with the OPA guys and SBI/APBA guys....were at...I don't care in Orange Beach or Key West..or better yet..both....
But that would be a showdown....with 11 Class 5 teams in OPA and 5 to 6 in SBI....
That would be a show....and some great racing....and think of how many Class 5 boats are sitting on trailers and how many performance boaters boats fit into that class now....
It is the one class that could easily have 25 -30 boats come out without having to build a new boat.....
