Last April a guy from Oklahoma City (Old Red) posted a picture of a boat asking for help to identify it. I posted it looked like a 28 Webbcraft. Furthermore based on lifting brackets on the bow, I guessed it was the old Duces R Wild raceboat.
Fast forward to two weeks ago. The boat is listed for sale again. The owner of the boat contacted the owner/manufacture of Webcraft who also identified the boat as Duces R Wild.
Duces was last seen alive at Kurts Marine several years ago, rigged with a blower motor and called "Kal's Custom".
The Duces boat came up in conversation at last week while I was at Kurts marine. The owner of Kurt's, Drew, asked if I was going to purchase it. When I told him "no". He asked if I would be OK with him buying it. I told him to go for it!.
Since Drew and his crew are very busy this time of year, I offered to pick up the boat for him-In Oklahoma City . I left Kurts Marine at 9am Thursday and arrived back in Brick NJ at 10am Sunday morning.
The boat (just a stripped hull) is in decent shape. It remains to be seen if we will see her in class 5?? I wish Drew the best of luck with his new boat!
