OPTIMA® Batteries Announces Offshore Powerboat
Association Racing Series Sponsorship
OPTIMA Batteries partners with OPA as its Official Battery for the 2011 racing season
Feb. 28, 2011 (MILWAUKEE) – OPTIMA® batteries have long been known in the offshore powerboat racing community for their durability and capacity to withstand the sport’s rough abuse. Today, OPTIMA Batteries, the worldwide leader in high-performance auto and marine batteries, announced its title sponsorship of the Offshore Powerboat Association (OPA) Racing Series as the Official Battery for the 2011 season. Through this sponsorship, OPTIMA continues to show its support and commitment to the OPA community.
“We are thrilled to be the OPA’s Official Battery sponsor and are looking forward to introducing our product to more hardcore, marine enthusiasts,” said Cam Douglass, director of product development and marketing for OPTIMA Batteries. “Offshore Powerboat racers are ideal customers for OPTIMA because our BlueTop marine batteries are designed to have tremendous starting power and more than 15 times the vibration resistance of traditional batteries.”
As the series’ Official Battery, OPTIMA will donate BlueTop® marine batteries to every team that registers with OPA before May 1, 2011. In addition, OPTIMA will also work with the OPA to raffle off a team sponsorship that includes $5,000, a free 2011 OPA registration and a free BlueTop marine battery.
As part of this partnership, OPTIMA will have a significant brand presence at each of OPA’s seven racing events this season including premium logo placement and verbal announcements during events.
