Neal there never was a 500 hp limit in class 6
A 500 hp limit wouldent work some older hull boats need much more power to hang with a modern stepped or padded bottom hull with less power. The talk of to much power will stop people from wanting to try to race is really not true . If a guy wants to race lets say his 24 baha with a 454 that will go 70 mph if he meets the safety stuff he needs he can go out and have a good time and let the bug bite him and get the race fever and then step up from there. Or just go and rent a bat boat and see if he likes racing. |

I cant see how a 850 or 900hp limit in Class 6 would hurt turnout. I tend to agree with the CROCKETT...I bet there are a handful of guys who come on here interested in the Class to read about guys with 900hp and feel like they want to be just like him !!!.
