So far most of the class has expressed interest in a under 40 foot rule for Class 4. We will continue working towards that, I will keep everyone informed on the outcome. Still 2 or 3 teams who haven't responded, although the majority is for it nevertheless.
A few teams would like a bravo style drive only rule too, which makes sense with our unlimited power rule but outlaws a lot of the old B Boats unless they converted, which is a down side.
Stay Tuned!

I think a 39ft maximum length limit for CLASS 4 is the right way to go. When the revised OPA bracket class rules were established back in 2006;CLASS 4 was designed as the ideal place for former B CLASS and FACTORY CLASS 2 race boats. B CLASS at one time had over 20 boats...but larger boats were allowed(which were really designed for D CLASS or SUPER VEE CLASS).The result was B CLASS declined to only a few boats. FACTORY 2 CLASS was designed to revitalize twin inboard open cockpit vee bottom racing...and the length limits were 30-39ft.I think CLASS 4 has growth potential for sure and it is exciting to hear that a few new teams are joining the class in 2014!
