OPA Registration
So, Dee has been very nicely reminding everyone via Email to get your paperwork in. Hopatcong is going to have a ton of boats there, Registration will take you all day, if you dont get it in prior.
There are currently Three teams registered in Saris, Tug It, Mark Henderson. Now, I am no fan of threats or fines or all of the other possible solutions to getting your undivided attention.
So....Whatever teams are not registered in by April 20th. Will be involved in what we are going to call the bucket brigade. Post race, you will be washing all of the other boats, and waxing Franks trailer.
If you think I jest, some will remember Sponge Bob Ron. Or ask Ron P, Have a great Day. Smitty

2014 OPA Official GPS Unit
We have been working very hard at making sure we have the latest in technology for reading speeds for breakouts in our 7 official OPA GPS classes. (These classes are Class 100 to Class 700.) In these 7 classes that OPA runs, we are making sure that everyone understands the rules of engagement with GPS units. It is the racers responsibility to make sure that the ATTI GPS unit is working properly at all times. We are allowing a second GPS as a backup in case your PRIMARY unit fails. It is at OPA's discretion to examine a boat when it comes out of the water after the race to inspect what was initially setup before you hit the water at the beginning of the race. Anyone deciding to not get that check if OPA has decided your boat is in question will be given last place with last place points. So please pay attention for when Race Control or an OPA Official asks you to remain with your boat for inspection.
GPS units available for use in OPA are the Shadow Tracker J2 and ATTI Premier Wireless GPS Unit. The Shadow Tracker J2 is the only unit that can be purchased as new. You will also need to put this unit into a pelican box so that it can be protected and permanently mounted in your boat.
GPS units will not be allowed to be moved from boat to boat. You will have the option to buy a Shadow Tracker J2 unit from the OPA GPS Official. The cost to purchase a Shadow Tracker J2 GPS unit is $400.00 plus $20.00 for the cost of a Pelican Box. You must contact Frank Vecce for all purchases regarding GPS units. Shadow Tracker J2 GPS units are also available to rent, contact Frank.
On site GPS registration will continue to be held at the race sites. This will also be the same place to hand in you GPS units to be read after the race. GPS registration times & place is available on the Schedule of Events for each race site.
