Default Zoomie Headers

I just got back from Trinidad where I covered the Great Race for Extreme Boats Magazine. It should make for a great article and hopefully some incredible photos (I didn't have Jamie Russel with me so I went in the chopper and shot slides like he does. Hopefully I got some good ones.)

I went to Trini rather than Orange Beach because my old boat (Mr. Technology) was racing again. This was it's second race since being rerigged. It now has 580ci Blue Thunder Engines and #V drives on stand off boxes. The engine room was so tight normal headers wouldn't fit, tractor headers wouldn't fit. So check out these custom made water cooled ZOOMIES!

This was the greatest sounding boat I've ever heard. Louder than loud with a very crisp tone.

Hopefully they will be bringing it to Key West in November along with Mr Solo a 40' MTI that's built to be SuperCat Legal.

This article should be out in time for the Worlds in Key West. Hopefully you'll enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed attending the event and writing the article.

Ron,
How are the pipes plumbed? Are the inter and outer pipes pressed so they just mist? Is that a water manifold at the tip for the water exit? Cool system...why didn't you think of this! I wonder what the short pipes do to the torque curve.

Did you get to go out for a little "testing" while you were there?

The header is built with a complete water jacket, the tube at the top is a collection of the cooling water to dump at a through hull fitting.

Nope, never got the chance to go for a ride. The day before the race they were working on the boat and after the race, there just wasn't time.

Hopefully they'll be in Key West and I can take that long awaited ride.
