Word has it that he fired his crew just an hour before and just went for a ride by himself, knowing he'd be DQed.

they had a bad starter which after changed the crew had went to watch the race, I ran the boat back around the Key after the race

Alan fiengold, not sure on the spelling.

They couldnt get the boat started, so they all left to go watch the race, then he got it started and decided to race it by himself.
