39 Quatro/42 Legacy
It's time to move up and I've been considered a few boats that I feel offer what I am looking for in a offshore boat. One is a 43 Nor-Tech Vee as well as the OL. I've never had a ride on a newer OL so I'm looking for some opinions on ride as compared to other boats that you've owned or have extensive experience with.
I am considering the 39 and/or 42 OL and would also like to get the pros and cons from OL owners and former owners. Any advice would greatly be appreciated, thanks! |

I've ridden the 43 Nor-tech but wanted to get some comparisons down before I take the plunge on either. Thanks!

Hideaway Marina has quite a few 39's listed. I've never been in one but I was in a 43V Friday w/tri 575....big and heavy. I bet the 39 gives you a totally different ride.

I would look for a triple 525 42. Reliable, fast, and a great ride. Ocean Perfrmance has one in on trade as well as some 39's listed.

The 39 is a handful to drive. The 42 I think is OL's best standup boat.

Both boats are at the top of their game. Completly different from all aspects, depends what you are looking for. I had an oportunity to ride in a trip 525 42 OL with Mike driving. This boat was the Kevlar layup. Extremely fast, felt very light, flew level every time, but was definatly a more ridgid feeling and not as forgiving as other boats of it's size. This is not a bad thing, this boat was designed to get every last mph out of it as possible, and it delivered in all aspects. The 4300 Nortech is a much larger and heavier boat. It will take more power to run the same speeds and the ride is totally different. I prefer this ride, softer on re-entry, doesnt fly as much, excellent rough water ride, much larger cockpit as well as cabin. I have had a gas 4300 and now have a diesel 4300 similar to the one at the show, but with a lighter layup and few different mods to bring the speed up. Either way you go, you cant loose. Good luck:cool: Jeff |
How often do the Bravos let go on the triple 42 OL and 43 NT ?
Seems like an awfull lotta boat / weight for the bravos to handle ???? |
