Shogrens 37 stiletto
Anybody know the 37 shogren has for sale? I think the boat was from Jersey. 850's? How fast? Any input would be appreciated!
|
37' Ol
I looked at that boat 3 years ago and took a test ride in it. At the time it had 850's. the boat was on a lift and was in salt water. the guy did not take very good care of it. The outdrives had corrosion and the interior was pretty wet. I don't know what's happened since then. the boat did run well and handled like a 37'
I do have one now that i am getting ready to sell if interested. it's the 2000 Let's Rock Boat with Fresh 0 hour 975 SC's and 6 ssm drives. I have rebuilt the complete boat and trailer. new Dry Sump 1500 Dry Sump Trans. Single Step OL. |
I must admit, we do not agree. If it was saltwatered and wet why is it clean without corrosion but yet still has origional interior and carpet in it? Once wet & mold, smell does not go away. The boat is very clean and can be viewed at anytime.

Hey Scott, why does it say "No Motors, Exhaust Or Trans " in the add? someone must have over looked it when posting it up.... just a heads up...
|
Thanks for the input. Spoke 2 Paul Fiore and he said boat ran 106 - 110 with 850's. Is this about right?
|
Thansk for heads up, changed verbiage in ad. Boat runs about 115-117 now.

Hey D.T, u know the boat?
|
No.
I think I remember it advertised when the owner had it. |
Scott is a straight shooter. He will disclose any issues.
|
Thanks. Seems to be. Heard good things about him and the dealership.
|
You would figure that a motor with that type of hp would have an inter cooler.

I just made 838 hp on 580 cu. in. with low boost and it wasn't needed... It couldn't hurt but maybe it wasn't necessary?? |
intercoolers will help keep detonation at bay. especially now with the ethanol issues of fuel. add to this the high temps of summer days helping to speed up the ethanol issues and the mediocre condition of some gas docks that claim to have 92 or 93 octaine, i wouldnt mind seeing intercoolers on my 60k investment on power.
|
I agree. Thanks for d input Bo. Gotta see if i have clearance for low profile intercoolers.
|
i could be mistaken, but those intakes apear similiar to those of whipple's, which can house the intercooler without adding to much overall height.
and you're welcome, good luck. |
Hey BO, whos intercoolers do you like? Who makes the low profile one?
|
Scott Shogren and his dealership are top notch.
As he has here, he will give you the answers to your questions honestly and openly. They have a great company and are wonderful people to business with. Better hurry, the season is upon us!!! :evilb: |

I have bought a boat from Scott as well. I agree, he is straight up and follows up to make sure you are happy. I saw that boat when I was there. It seems to be a nice boat.
|
Thanks for the input.
|
I would say Scott Shogren is very honest and calls it the way it is, I bought my boat from Scott and it was close to his discription, Bottom line is you need to look at the boat and make your own determination on "What it is" or pay someone. I would buy another boat from Scott, He is the Largest Fountain dealer for a reason!
|
Has anyone seen this boat up close and personal recently. It seems like a good deal even if it is a 7 out of 10.

Wally, That would be great. I am looking for an unbiased opinion from a local OSO'er. That boat has fallen in to my price range being they take trades.
Thanks, Tom A. |
That's a start. Thanks for the info. It should run better than 95 w/ that power.

My friend has 850's in his bravo 37', it runs 101 mph and still getting dialed in. |
I flew out there from n.y. We ran the boat and it ran 91! Boat needs some love. Was a waste of a trip. Told me it ran 115. Not even close!
|
The boat was sold this weekend. It ran 95MPH with "NO", I stress "NO" boost, 3 people and full of fuel. Add 6-7 pds when the "NEW" motors are broken in and it will run 112-115. The customer is very pleased with the boat and was amzed it ran 95 with "NO" boost.
It was a "GREAT" boat for 169K. Twin "NEW" 900's and SSM#6 Drives and certainly 400K less than a new one. Regards, Team Shogren www.chicagofountain.com. |
