I'm not pointing fingers. I understand people's "concerns" if thats what you want to call it. It is our responsibility to let him know the pros and cons of jumping into such big power, but it doesn't have to be done so critically. Not such a warm welcome is all I'm saying.

I'm not being critical. Just saying that even though someone has good intentions of not running a boat at WOT it eventually happens. 80mph eventually gets boring and the abiilty to go 120+ is a potential for a problem. Faster you go the faster things go wrong and you aren't able to correct. We all know close calls we've had, however I know faster boats with close calls would of been a problem. I've owned 4 go fast boats and have slowly worked my way up in speed because I know the learning curve. I would love to have a cat but know I'm not ready. Just saying many people can buy whatever they want but it doesn't mean the fasteset boat is the right choice.

WoW. I would like to say thank you all for the advice. We have been thinking real hard about this boat. Ive been in touch with Tres about coming up and working with my whole family for a one- on one training. As of right now we are finishing up things on closing on a house so the boat will still be a late summer purchase. I've done a lot of thinking about the 1075's and was unaware of the 100 hour service costs. I'm starting to re-think such power. I didn't take any ones words to be harsh just pointing me in the right direction. I've looked at a 51 with tripple 700's but not sure that is teh way to go. I've also looked at a 38 Donzi with twin 700's. From what people say the 700 is a better engine to get started on. Thanks again and I love reading what people think.

Yea. I really liked the OL. Just really took the advice of teh board and started looking at different boats. Power being the main focus right now. Still up in air about 51 with triple 700's Never operated a triple before. Dont even know how to drive them

I've been 117 with 3 people, mid level on fuel, semi-good conditions. Ran at the DS poker run 115mph, got a video of it but too it's pretty big file.

SC Boater, here are my 2 cents, the 1075's are smart and made to prevent you from tearing one up, but sometimes too smart and will cause you pain due to sensor problems, you need to make sure someone in your area is certified and has all the computer equipment - which is very expensive, they are far from maintenance free, every 10 hours oil changed & lashed, at 70hrs you have to have the top end checked 6-10k, higher if you are hard on the boat, rebuild at 100-150 hours, 52k on the rebuild if they come back in good shape, plus you are a first time performance owner you need to take a hard look at the insurance - i have owned a lot of performance boats, never filed a claim, and raced offshore, but my 55 cats insurance is simply ridiculous...finally after u stuff all this cash into the boat over the next two years, be prepared for the resale of the boat to be a fraction of what you purchased it for....truly not trying to discourage you, in fact, i always believe in going big or going home, but you need to really understand these things...
