If you had an employee, would you want one that was a veritable sponge, wanted to learn as much about the buisneess as possible, wanted to do the best job for you possible and busted his azz, or would you want a guy who clocked in, said the boss was an azzhat, took long lunches and did just enough to keep from getting fired? If he bugs you that much, dont read his posts or block him. Or do you just enjoy having something to biotch about?? :cartman: |

I couldn't have said it any better myself. Some people on here as well as other sites feel that they need to bash others to make themselves feel better. I have known Dan for several years now and I would be very surprised if any one out there knows as much about performance boats as Dan does, not just outerlimits but all makes and models! Remember this is OUR sport, so lets all keep this from getting personal.

This post is about 51' boat for sale, not Dan. I could careless either way for or against Dan, he has rubbed me wrong in the past, and I think he means well and is passionate about the OL product. I do agree with you Phantom Chaos, he is not an expert, but he is learning, and maybe he will one day be a reliable and valuable source for performance boaters to get information.
If you want to know about this particular boat, as was mentioned in an earlier post, call the owner-builder of OL, and just ask the current owner of the boat forsale. That pretty-much addresses who to call for questions regarding the boat(s). PS Both boat in this threads, in post #5 and post #9 are very nice looking boats. I would be proud to own either boat. |
I doubt every 51 was an epoxy either so weight would be a question
|
Dan's not a bad kid. I just hope that he doesn't believe everything that he is told. Too much cool-aid is not a good thing.

If that is/was the case (and Mike is aware of it), then it's all good. I don't think that's the case since Dan's not an advertiser status or commercial status. Get it? He can be a great employee for OL while NOT posting his "opinions" and limited experiences on OSO as "expert". :D:D:evilb:

Well then, why don't you call Fiore yourself and ask him about dan so you can get rid of the ants in your pants and rest your weary mind. While your on the phone with him you can discuss your position as Outerlimits new marketing director, so situations like this will never happen again. :lolhit:

How do you know he's not "authorized" to post? I assure you he does more than "sweep" the floors and mike is more than aware of his postings on OSO. Looks and sounds like you have a hard on for Dan. You know what they say when you ASSUME, right? Makes an a22 out of U N ME. Guess this saying was wrong... you're the only a22 in this case :poopoo:

I'm still waiting to hear the speeds on these monsters... twin 1075's vs. trip 600's. Anybody know?
|
1075's-100
Triple 600's- high 80's |
The triple 600 boat runs 98-100 and the 1075 boat runs right around 110 +/-.

If so, that's impressive for a 51' boat with a fully appointed cabin! Out of curiosity, what year did OL start retaining/recording test sheets?

http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o44617-en.html I thought the same thing. I looked at that engine bay picture and I kinda felt like a serial killer after I cut up bodies and put them in my freezer. Sick and twisted - who does stuff like that? That chit aint right. |

I'm sure Dan will chime in, but I'd guess it will run 130-135 or so. |

thats a pretty bold statement...
No offense but performance boating knowledge extends way beyond re-gurgitating numbers and figures. A salesman can do that. Performance boat knowledge comes from someone who does most if not all of the following first hand: 1. Actively drives performance boats on a daily basis 2. Spends endless amounts of time in the bilge of a boat doing motor work 3. Keen knowledge of hull design and fluid dynamics 4. Knows the inner workings of outdrives, gears ratios, material properties, etc 5. Understands the interaction between motor, outdrives, and user controls 6. Vast knowledge of common boat electrical components and circuitry The list goes on and on...Simply being the PR person or office assistant in my opinion doesnt get you there. I would much rather consult the likes of sick stinger for motor questions, glass dave for glass work or hull design, mrfixxall for outdrive questions, etc...People who actively do this stuff on a daily basis. You've just eliminated 90% of the people on this board  Anyway, I've met Dan and Ken a few times, they've owned quite a few very nice boats and have a lot of seat time in them. They're also quite gracious and generous folks. I've run with them although it couldn't have been that big of a deal for them with my pokey 33' PowerPlay, fun never-the-less though. Dan has a huge amount of enthusiasm for the sport, maybe it rubs some of the know-it-all's the wrong way sometimes but that's their problem. It's strange how that turns off some people and they make judgements without ever meeting him. To me, it's nice to see another generation coming up to promote and sustain this sport, in this pathetic economy with the high gas prices we're going to become an endangered niche market before long. |
Here's another one, and it's for sale

And why are you raising hell in the Outerlimits forum?? You own a Formula and a Sea Ray. Nothing in here concerns you. I think you need to ask yourself why am I acting in such an aggressive, ugly manner. |
