51 Outerlimits

How many of these have been built? It almost looks like they are all for sale on boattrader.

sommerfliesby 08-27-2008 08:07 PM

Dude, you already have TWO BOATS. Give it a rest! :drink:

32fever 08-28-2008 08:07 AM

Just curious how many they made. Sure seems like a narrow market, and there are a lot listed for sale. I didn't know they made that many of those to have that many for sale.

If I'm buying another boat, it's going to be the same thing or similar to what you are shipping for right now :) When these two are both out of gas, it's time to end the season :-)

sakoutis3 08-28-2008 08:28 AM

They built between 25 and 30.

drpete3 03-14-2012 07:35 AM

Why is this one still for sale???????????????????

Beautiful looking boat and seems to be priced right. Why is it still for sale? Maybe the price of fuel with triples, the goose neck trailer and maybe most people don't have that kind of cash these days.

BBILL1174 03-14-2012 08:29 AM

I saw the boat Sunday & it looks so clean I can't believe it didn't sell yet.

In the ad, it says new one is here. Is that price correct 199,999. Seems fairly reasonable for a OL51. Downfall is 3x600's vs 2 1075's. Higher maintenance. Still way out of my league though!
Beauty of a boat.

nate 03-14-2012 09:46 AM

I think my second cousin's boat is a better deal. was listed as 209k when the add went up a few days ago at deep impact

I saw this one the other day, seems like a hell of a deal if you're in the market for a 51 OL!!

32fever,

Do you mind posting a pic of your 37 OL? Always like to see one I haven't seen before.

Beautiful colors, better power pkg than trip 600s although I like trips on big boats-Ilmor 725s for instance...

Both boats are a smoking deal! The owner of the bravo boat has had very good luck with the bravos in his triple engine set-ups. Its all how you drive and maintain them. You have to remember the boat is 51ft but is not an extremely heavy boat. If anyone has any questions about either boat feel free to call me at the factory.

If anyone was interested in them, WTF would they call you? Seriously....get over yourself.

One could easily say the same about you (WTF, get over yourself). I'd rather have someone on here offering any information they could, rather then someone who is cocky and full of himself with a response like that. Get a life.

Wow, WTF was this all about? A guy offers to share information about a couple of boats and this is your response. What's your problem dude?

What do one of those weigh? I would imagine you would need a sport chassis to tow one, right?

SS930 03-18-2012 12:26 PM

Being an epoxy boat, I doubt those boats are any heavier than a traditional 42.

Curious what type of speed he's seeing with the 1075's? Sharp boat!

Either that or an F650. I would guess with full water and fuel plus other gear boat and trailer would weigh around 15k. You could pull that with a 1 ton dually if the trailer was a gooseneck and you had an exhaust brake.

Just out of spite I must ask, why MUST you have and exhaust brake? Its a convienance factor Cat, not a mandatory item. How many new trucks and I mean 2011-2012 have your driven pulling 14-17k on a bumper hitch trailer? I bet you would be extremely surprised how the big 3 with auto trans and assisted trans braking handle. Hell, Dodge (your holy grail) even come factory with an exhaust brake on Cummins equipped trucks.

Come on Cat, lets talk about boats and quit wishing our exhaust brake/fantasy truck will on everyone.

Rant off :thankyouthankyou:

And it was a cummins, right Cat??

If you want to learn about a specific OL, call Mike, not the OL "expert" poser that probably sweeps the floor at the company.

AB....do a little checking would you? LOL

iamjoe 03-25-2012 12:48 PM

I can see why there may be a concern with the Bravos on the triple boat, but would it burn more gas than the 1075's? Not sure but wouldn't the maintenance costs be less on the triple boat? I think in terms of paint, they are both as nice as the other. Anyone know the hours on either one of these? Just curious

mcraymond3 03-25-2012 03:08 PM

OL40SVX does know a lot about OL's! I think he would give you accurate info on either boat. Call him, you may be surprised.

There is no question that if you called Mike Fiore at OL, he would answer any questions that "anyone" may have about any OL's boat. I'm sure the so called poser that you referred to at OL, has and will sweep the floor if it needs it and do what ever owner Mike Fiore ask him to do. I'm not beneath sweeping the floor and see nothing wrong with that, as I do it all the time for my boss (wife) and with pleasure. This so called floor sweeper/poser is a wealth of information and has been willing to share it with anyone on OSO and I'm sure he would even share it with you if you asked him. He is one of the good guys on OSO and if he is OK to work for Mike Fiore and OL. I just can't understand what your fixation is with trying to make him look bad, when you are only doing that to yourself.

Personally, I would rather be a floor sweeper at a job i loved than the boss doing something I absolutely hated. With as much as Dan posts, he obviously loves the boats and even if he sweeps floors, if your that into something your going to learn all you can.

If you had an employee, would you want one that was a veritable sponge, wanted to learn as much about the buisneess as possible, wanted to do the best job for you possible and busted his azz, or would you want a guy who clocked in, said the boss was an azzhat, took long lunches and did just enough to keep from getting fired?

If he bugs you that much, dont read his posts or block him. Or do you just enjoy having something to biotch about?? :cartman:

I couldn't have said it any better myself. Some people on here as well as other sites feel that they need to bash others to make themselves feel better. I have known Dan for several years now and I would be very surprised if any one out there knows as much about performance boats as Dan does, not just outerlimits but all makes and models! Remember this is OUR sport, so lets all keep this from getting personal.

thats a pretty bold statement...

No offense but performance boating knowledge extends way beyond re-gurgitating numbers and figures. A salesman can do that. Performance boat knowledge comes from someone who does most if not all of the following first hand:

1. Actively drives performance boats on a daily basis
2. Spends endless amounts of time in the bilge of a boat doing motor work
3. Keen knowledge of hull design and fluid dynamics
4. Knows the inner workings of outdrives, gears ratios, material properties, etc
5. Understands the interaction between motor, outdrives, and user controls
6. Vast knowledge of common boat electrical components and circuitry

The list goes on and on...Simply being the PR person or office assistant in my opinion doesnt get you there.

I would much rather consult the likes of sick stinger for motor questions, glass dave for glass work or hull design, mrfixxall for outdrive questions, etc...People who actively do this stuff on a daily basis.

WildThing47 03-27-2012 01:47 PM

Did anyone miss the point here, if you want information on the boat, either call Dan and speak to him as he knows the boat, or call Mike if you have any serious questions and don't feel comfortable with Dan. I don't see how hull dynamics or anything else comes into question when asking the condition or past history of a boat.... This is just turning into another crap thread. If you don't like Dan, so be it, quit wasting post space on people who are obviously interested in the boat, not what your opinion on someone who WORKS FOR OUTERLIMITS is...

If he was so "stupid" then why does Mike still have him working for the company, I'm sorry bout I've had about enough of listening to this chit....:blahblah:

Good for you. You made your decision. Chris Sunkin was a wealth of information and an expert on everything too, and I wouldn't hire him to wash my driveway. LOL Who says Dan is a "wealth of information on OL"? He does? You do? The OL sheep? :evilb::evilb::evilb::evilb:
