42 -Epoxy quad step with big power?
#1
How do these boats handle in the teens and above?
One of our colleagues is considering purchasing an 04- 42 epoxy and installing a pair of 1200hp 598s .
Can he use the power with this hull and not be way out of shape?
Thanks!

O5 or 04 Miami show, in water O/L had a 42 epoxy, I think it had 1075's in it. Both my sons and their wives when out with Bob Russell. They saw 112 on the gps in Biscayne bay, with 5 people. Bob showed my son the gps tattle tale it was at 124 from another run. Boat handled like it was on rails. Dont think you would have any worries in that boat.

only epoxy 42 were gtxs they run fine into the 150s. There was a ton of non epoxy boats gtx and legacys built with big power no problems at all. Just rigged one last spring with 1550 sterlings it went 148 mph during testing and Bob Russell ran with the customer at scope

Not true. I own the above mentioned '04 Miami boat show 42 epoxy legacy. I believe it was the first epoxy legacy. It routinley runs 118 in the ocean with the 1075's and handles extremely well.

I have a buddy interested in your old boat. My Dad and a mechanic friend of ours looked at it at Larry's shop when they brought our Motion down there.
