Isn't that Links boat. I rode in Olivers on the way to KW after mine broke. Incredible ride, and no bow rise at all with 6 big guys on board.
Is your the one with flames on it.

I think I need bow rise! I think the handling issue is to much transom lift and or the location and angles of the steps.

Thanks Joe, so 800's get you 105, and 900's get the purple boat 122??? Doesn't really add up. Links classified add shows 118 with 1100's, so do these "900's" make more power maybe?

What did the 675's get ya 95-97?

The 42 and 46 run 113+ with Merc 850's and 125 with 1075's, do the 37's seem to run out of hull giving the longer boats better efficiency with equal power (I assume 37's are lighter or same weight as the bigger 42/46 epoxy's)? Just curious?

well I jump in and add mine to pile 37 single step... Let's Rock, just over 110 mph gellner 975's and 17x33 four blades. If I could stop the porposing at high speed with not dragging the tabs it be all good, also need more mid range.

thunderusone 08-01-2009 06:39 PM

Mine is a single step 37 with 1100 quadrotors with 121 on the recall slinging 17x35 hering 5 blades.

You have to run tab with that boat........believe me. Call me any time and please make sure you run ONLY Pennzoil GT Performance racing engine oil 25 W 50 or 50 WT...

I have a set of 16.5 X 33 5 blade hearings that do not porpoise at all. Accelerates like a bat out of hell. I have them listed for sale in the swap shop...listed them yestereday.

JoeD 08-03-2009 11:59 AM

My boat ran 103 as a high with the 675's, by adding inter coolers I picked up more hp and torque but only 100 to 200 add.rpms(5600 -5700 limiters are set low for longevity) ----most of the boats I compare to are running 6000 rpm motors at 975 to 1100 hp.(running 110-122mph) additionally my #6's are geared at 1.50 and so are Links , the purple boat is at 1.35, the brochure says my boat is 10,200lbs with #6's.

All in all I think for running 300-400 less hp and running 400 less rpms l will probably stick with 15 mph less than some of the others, or possibly try 1.35 gear change.

Best I can tell about 40mph faster than your girlfriends boat. Your welcome to come down here and line up her boat to find out.

DRG, enjoyed talking to you. I think the 18 degree produces more lift. I couldnt tell much difference with them. I think it may have been because they are 16.5 diameter and all the other props I have are 17 and 17.5.

Lets see some pictures of it. If it is anything like the old boat it has to be BAD AZZ.

I very rarely get to see it through all of the people gathered around the docks looking at it.

The higher the rake the more bow lift you will get.
But you need to compare apples to apples as far as diameter, as that will have an effect. Larger diameter usually gives more stern lift but that can confuse some because on a vee trimmed out it will try to lift the whole boat.
How is Lets Rock running, one of my good friends was the third owner, so I have spent alot of time in there and you are right it needs tabs. We had bought some drive spacers to try but he blew one of the motors on the first outing with them. He said it seem to help getting on plane, but didn't get to run it enough to know for sure. Good luck with it, it is a beautiful boat.

Yes, My boat burned in a fire in storage, I'm kinda glad it did before someone got killed in the thing! It had twin 1000hp 632's. The boat would run 110 half throttle but we could never get it past there, it had a violent, I mean VIOLENT chine walk if you tried to push any further.

Knotty Buoy is definitely not around anymore. Hit bird island doing 70ish. Ripped a 6ft hole under the port side and had a solid crack midship from the very bottom of the keel to right around the rubrail. Boat was for sale before it got wrecked but was already half dead. Was a real shame the guy who had it beat the sh** out of it every weekend. Legit saw him taking a reciprocal saw to the swim platform to chop off the side step after he crushed it against a concrete pier. The paint was also fouled up from the factory. The boat was a birthday present for the original owner and to make sure he got it on his bday as a surprise present they rushed the paint job and never clear coated it. So every time a fender or rub rail on a dock brushed against the hull it was smudged or scratched. Nice boat just needed the right owner. Had blown 650s and #6 Drives. Would do 103 following 2-3 footers and a solid 85 heading into it. Extra steps gave it a nice ride since you didn't get the slamming on the ass end when trimmed up a bit

actually, after I fixed the starboard motor that never ran right(reluctor wheel was in the wrong position on the balancer),,boat ran 107 w/ me and 3 other guys on it.everything else you said was spot on.

damdonzi 01-10-2018 09:09 PM

I saw 101 with Terry in that thing. Crazy ride!
