Im trying to think of which one it is. I thought there was only four made. The purple one from MA that went on the rocks, the one that burned to a crisp in Maine, Link's boat, and Joe D's boat. Maybe Im wrong, I just remembered there was one in CA too. So there's probably more than four or five. Maybe Animal House can clear this up. Again awesome boat!

cowisl 07-24-2009 11:45 AM

gotta be the purple boat...knotty bouy

Have you ran bigger dia wheels and if so how does it handle upstairs? Has the bottom had work done since new?

JoeD 07-27-2009 11:43 AM

Links are you running 1.35 gears in yours also?

1.50 and 17x33 5 blade. gonna take 1/2" out of dia and add 1/2" spacer. One change at a time and see what happens. Got plenty of power to run in the 120's. May have bottom done this winter.

JoeD 07-27-2009 05:19 PM

My boat when seen at the dealer originally did not have drive spacers but when the dealer sent it to Outerlimits for a once over before I picked it up they decided to put 1/2 spacers in, later in my quest for speed I removed them and since sold them, they really did not seem to effect handling either way, I am thinking of this 1.35 gear ratio now.

17x33 4blade
5600 rpms
1.50 gear ratio (currently)
also soon to test 17 X33 5 blades

My motors are good for 6400 and Im not close to that with current set up. I knew when I bought the 5 blades I was going to cut dia to settle ass end down and hope to carry bow better just never did. I really need to spend the time to try setup changes. Props go out this week so I will post results. I get this thing in the 120's without bottom work I will be very suprised.

JoeD 07-27-2009 07:29 PM

Good luck with the project,I am lookin for just bit more mid range.

One thing the boat is not lacking is acceleration, The motors literally man handle the hull! Just need to get it to where I can hold it upstairs.

You are kidding me! That boat was destroyed from the photos I saw of it at the salvage yard. I remember it from when Terry owned it. Is this really the same boat?

Strip Poker 388 07-29-2009 11:49 AM

How much faster would the Quad 39 with same power be??
Rob:drink:

JoeD 07-29-2009 02:57 PM

I think the quad 39's post speeds in the 120's with 850 merc's and #6's,I also believe there are just 1 or 2 of those built.

JoeD 07-29-2009 03:30 PM

Does anyone know which boat TAZZ owns and what power he has. (any pics of his boat)

dkwestern 07-29-2009 04:57 PM

JoeD, did/does yours have KE 675's and #VI? What speed with that power?

JoeD 07-29-2009 07:18 PM

Yes started out with 675's and then added intercoolers , now just over 800hp and running 103-105 (rev limiters low 56-5700)
