Deal on 42!
#21
For all of you guys that think this is a bad deal just do the math. I am not suggesting that you pay their asking price but even if you did you could make this an azz kicking boat for less than half the cost of a new one.
Asking price $250k, paint $50k, cockpit upholstery $10k, Merc Motor Freshen $45k, props $10k, trailer $12k and rigging $15k. That adds up to $392k at asking price. This boat ordered new today with this engine and drive package is over $800k If you get them to drop their asking price things just get better.
This boat was originally owned by Al Damon and then it was traded in on a new 46. The 46 was in the classifieds for sale with the same paint scheme. I actually looked at this boat about a year ago. It looks much better in person than these photos. It is ashame that it is sitting in that auction yard in that condition.

Well, apparantly not everyone feels that way, or it wouldn't still be for sale? Gorgeous boat, no arguement here, but, I am just not sure if its a great deal or not, just my thoughts

I would not want to have 400k in a used 2006 ol...
I do think the boat will sell in the 170 180k range..

Things are really awful in this economy. However you will not walk into Outerlimits and walk out with a new 42 1075 #6 boat on a trailer with a kick azz paint job for $500k. If so go get it done. On top of that if this boat can be bought for $170k it will make someone a hell of a boat even if you have to put some $$$ into it to get it where it needs to be. What happened to the higher resale for Mercury power. If you can buy it for that money again go get it done.
This is the perfect time for some of you on the sidelines or considering an upgrade to get into the Ultra High Performance Boat market at a significant reduction in pricing. But if you are worried about the price think long and hard about it because the operational cost of any Ultra High Performance boat is significant.
Remember this is a hobby that you have to love. If you are doing it to make a profit look around at all the dealers that have filed bankruptcy.

This boat has very little use on it, I am trying to figure out why the motors were pulled. If strongly interested in the boat, make sure you have them power it up and look at the hours that it has on it and make a decision from there.
