New 37 Listed

Anyone know this boat? Looks like a pretty good deal, although I would much prefer a "flat" engine hatch.

No Reserve ?

Perlmudder 02-02-2011 04:41 PM

What is the reason for cutting the skegs on the drives like that?

n20michael 02-02-2011 05:16 PM

Nope, no reserve, looking to sell it this week, according to seller, I was sent a couple of video's and a pile of interior pics, looks really clean

Any Idea what Outerlimits would charge to redo the hatch without the scoops? Probably wouldn't be cheap

Trailer is included too, and its a Myco, so, as I said it "appears" to be a pretty good deal

flat hatch will not work with blower engines

LapseofReason 02-02-2011 07:54 PM

I would say 80k is the reserve, boat is worth that and more for sure, bet if nobody bids over 100k he pulls it. They can make you a flat padded hatch but they are going to need to raise it up and put some air intakes in it. My 50 had big cut outs for the air cleaners and vents but was flat padded. I would plan on 3-5k for it. It's been for sale for a while but not forever like some. I think those are some early speed master swept back skegs but not 100% sure.

I would look at swapping to a whipple EFI set up, that wouldnt be as "tall" right?

Thanks, I was thinking 5K myself. IF you could buy it for 80K it would be a good deal? Trailer is worth a good buck too I bet

OL40SVX 02-02-2011 08:20 PM

You wont see that boat sell for under 100K. The boat has only been for sale on and off since the end of last year.

SLOWRIDE-388 02-02-2011 08:37 PM

Nice looking 37 with 6s. Real good shape for the year.

GOT POWER 02-03-2011 08:36 AM

FYI-- I've looked at the boat in person 3 times and the interior (cockpit & cabin) are trashed. Not sure what pics of the cabin are out there, but in person, it's enough to make you sick to your stomach. Nothing less than a redo on both. Exterior is in good shape except where someone tried to re-clearcoat the boat and made a mess. If anyone wants more details, let me know. And the boat will not be going for anything close to 80K. It will be closer to 120K at best.

Broke one off then just cut the other one off to match.

GASpeedguy99 02-03-2011 11:37 AM

I went and looked at the boat today. It does need some work on the inside but by no means trashed. I also talked to the owner and it seems Got Power has an offer on the boat and is trying to come up with the money.
Is this really how you treat fellow boaters?

n20michael 02-03-2011 11:49 AM

Yeah, the pics I saw of the interior looked like it was FAR from trashed, guess some people have there own agendas, nice boat, new owner should be happy.

LAriverratt 02-03-2011 12:21 PM

I didn't mean to stir any chit, just going on the post of someones personal opinion of the current condition..I will retract my previous statement.

sea2jet 02-03-2011 12:38 PM

GAspeedguy99, you had time to see the boat, join this forum and make your first post in the first half of today? You have been busy:drink:

Do you own the boat? If so, are you serious about selling it, or just looking for some press??? I'm planning on bidding on it, but I dont want to waste my time if it's not going to sell to the winning bidder...

Interior looks very well used to me. Doesn't appear trashed, but pretty warn and need of replacement.

I can say i know of another stileeto that sold last year from the east coast and similar condition and it was well south of 100K

GASpeedguy99 02-03-2011 01:55 PM

?

I don't own the boat but do work in the area. I'm a boat guy.
I was just doing my research and found this thread. From looking at the boat I would fix or replace the cockpit door. Have the carpet cleaned and pay for a full detail. I would paint the boat so I don't care about the clear coat. It didn't look bad but I don't want anyone to know I bought someone's boat. I would want it to look like mine.
I would also have the motors gone through by my tech before and after I bought it. The Lake is free but boating is not.

I'm guessing you are the broker that has it listed and you are not going to be happy if I buy it directly from the owner (contacted owner before broker listed it). And just so you know, it's not me trying to come up with the money, it's a matter of me getting prices on everything that has to be fixed or replaced so I know how much total $$$$'s I would have in it. The boat will take a huge amount of money to be right and that's a fact and if someone stepped in and bought it at this point, it would not hurt my feelings, that's why I said in my other post "let me know if you have any other questions". A detail job will not fix the cockpit and cabin. I have no agenda other than sharing what I know from looking at it. You are the one with an agenda and if you invite anyone to come look at it that has to travel any distance at all, you will make an enemy quickly based on your description.

If anyone else gets a chance to look at it, please post your feedback as mine is accurate.

n20,

Can you see the water and mold in the cabin floor, can you see the cabinet doors ripped from the cabinets, can you see the head door ripped from the hinges, can you see the kickboards detached from the benches and lying in the floor, can you see the crud in the v-berth, can you see the condition of the head, can you see that it needs a new cabin door, can you see that the windshield is broken in 2 places, etc, etc, etc. in the pictures? Should I go on? Go look at the boat and then tell me about an agenda, the interior IS trashed.

This is a great boat and that is why I'm interested BUT it will take a tremendous amount of money to make right and I have told the owner that. The question is how much will it take???? If you think you can live with all that's wrong, go pick her up!! Sorry for the rant....

DeLuca 02-03-2011 02:42 PM

I just got off the phone with the broker that has the boat listed on Ebay . He said that they have 2 deal's on the boat and one guy is trying to come up with the funding and the other guy from the 'BVI's" that has been on and off the boat at $120,000.00 . He also said the in the cabin the carpet needs to be replaced . Also the door to the cabin is delaminating and the cockpit seat could be redone . Paint is in good condition he says . I offered $100,000 cash $20,000 depo and balance after I go up there to inspect and he said owner would not take that !

As I recall there was one last year , I think it was a 1999 with 1000hp and 6's for under $100,000 . It was listed here and the pics looked like they had been takin in front of Lake CumberLand Marine .

No and honestly dont remember but would guess XR's. I was on the boat once this summer now that it moved to MI

SS930 02-03-2011 03:45 PM

I also noticed the port side header on the port engine looked to be discolored (over heated) in the you tube video sent to me. No idea if this thing has been leaned out, but that did have me a little concerned.

Sounds like $120k is way too much for this boat. Even $100k is starting to sound like too much.

You offered him 100K CASH and he turned it down????? Times must be good! :party-smiley-004:

DeLuca 02-03-2011 04:53 PM

Times must be good LOL I was thinking in todays market I was being generous ! Truly , with the more I learn about the boat it seams like $80-90G's is all the money

drpete3 02-03-2011 05:31 PM

I agree w the last 3 comments but you dont know what he needs to get out of it. Maybe it would take 120 if he is upside down in it

OL40SVX 02-03-2011 05:43 PM

No offense, but if it just needs a new cockpit and cabin carpet, it isnt alot of money to replace those things if the boat is in overall decent shape.

Well, dont buy it then, or if you have the money go pick it up, if not, dont worry about what someone else will have to spend

This one has been listed and relisted a few times too, Low hours, but, doesn't have "big power" or 6's

Pretty clean though, what are your thoughts on 198K?

WTF? I was providing first hand knowledge about the boat, then you said I had an agenda because of what I said about it. Unless you have laid eyes on it, don't ASSume things from a picture.

My numbers are based on information from Fred at OL, as well as a few others that would have to put it together. We're not talking just a few bucks here or there, no offense.

So here is where I maybe wrong/misunderstood, I want the boat to be a 7-9 out of 10 when I'm finished. If you're looking for a 3-5 of 10 when finished, you can get away with less. It's all relative I guess.....

GOT POWER 02-03-2011 07:15 PM

One other thing that I haven't mentioned, the guy that is selling the boat is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet, I mean give you the shirt off of his back nice, and has worked his a$$ off for everything he has. If someone that is loaded comes in and offers him a bunch of $$$$'s and doesn't really care what it cost to fix it up, I would be happy for him.

ASSuming something is gospel from a guy with 35 posts? who's been a member for a month? and doesn't list a boat? I simply made a statement based on what I seen in the pic

I never said YOU had an agenda, you just ASSumed, shortly after you started ranting [at ME!] about "what I did and didn't see" in the pic, I have eyes, I seen what I seen and never said differently

After that, you started accusing ANOTHER OSO member of being in cahoots with the seller, or being the actual broker, or some silly thing like that

Your right, you should never ASS ume! It tends to come back and bite you.

Michael

MOVING ON! What do you guys think of the other boat I posted a link to?

Sick Stinger 02-03-2011 07:28 PM

Thanks Stinger! I know there are some good deals out there, just a matter of being in the "right place at the right time" I guess. I dont mind a bit of a project, its rewarding in the end!

Thanks!

If you have to spend 5-10K for a new cockpit and cabin re-skin, and then have a very nice and fast 37OL with 6's, its a small amount compared to the overall cost and maintenance of he boat.
