Give me the brand of any high end boat with big power that doesn't depreciate big time when purchased new. You stick with boats that are several years old with mild or Mercury power that have already depreciated 40 to 50% before you buy it. When you are buying boats in your price range if they drop another 20% in value over a year it is no big deal. Go buy a brand new Cigarette and sell it 2 years later and let us know how things turn out.
You bought a Cigarette. It is a nice boat so go enjoy it. More than likely it will be in the classifieds for sale within a couple of months.

OK...this is the person my son refers to as "the old guy"
I met Jeff briefly when he picked up the other Cigarette in CT..
not one of these high performance boats does everything well!!
period!!
there are always compromises..
depreciation..never considered that when buying these hunks of fiberglass, kevlar, carbon fiber
we bought the boats we have owned because of our intense passion for these "go fast" boats..
Mike Fiore saw that passion in my son...and hired him..
like Jeff we have owned many brands over the years..
did we re-rig some "stuff" on our OL...yup
did we re-rig all the other boats..yup..
I love the styling OL has evolved over the last few years
efficiency?? second to none..
the new 43/44 bottom...take a ride..then tell me how it compares to your current boat..
now back to your regularly scheduled..

FWIW, if you look at resale as percentage of original price, I'm not so sure I would say your statement holds true.
BTW, if you look at mid to late 90's OL's, those boats are still typically selling for around $100k, yet I would guess they probably only sold for what $300k? If so, that's pretty good IMO for a 15 year old boat. What's a mid to late 90's Cig worth today and what did it cost back in the day??? With that said, I don't know that your "new or used a cigarette will always hold its value better" blanket statement is 100% correct...
