47 OL XXX - For sale... Info Requested Please...

I see that the old XXX boat has been for sale for a little while now. Recently redone interior and paint. Currently has no motors but available from a couple of brokers with different power combinations. Price keeps on dropping...

Does anyone have any info on the boat. Why was it redone? Are there any problems with the hull? How does it run? What happened to the original motors?

I am currently shopping for a new boat, and any info would be much appreciated.

Love that boat... seems like a decent deal unless I'm missing something. Pretty limited pool of buyers, I suppose.

A friend made them a reasonable offer and they didn't even respond, must not want to sell it very bad

:blaster: doesn't surprise me 1 Iota.. LOL

mkrytiuk 12-27-2011 08:49 PM

Thanks for the reply. Ill give Terry a call.

I see that Nor-Tech installed a set of underwater exhaust.

The boat looks nice, but I would have left the original paintjob.

Has the boat been in any accidents? Why did they re-do everything? The boat had allot of history, I would have throught that would have helped sell the boat.

If you like race boats, it would still be a nice boat with like 725 ilmors, you could still get into it ready to roll for 250k , it is a full carbon boat would be a disadvantage with the ride.

OL40SVX 12-28-2011 01:19 PM

It was and has always been more of a pleasure boat than a race boat.

mkrytiuk 12-29-2011 12:00 AM

I'm looking at several GTXs right now with no power. Would want to install Sterling 1550s.

Im in no rush, as my boating season is over untill May.

I want to make up my mind on what route ill go in by next month.

Thanks for the info from everyone.

What? That boat was built to break speed records. I think you are losing it. :D

Paul it was built as a poker run boat. It was built just like all the other 47 GTX's not a special one off. It had a full dash and a five man interior.

I dont think I have that anywhere but let me double check. I believe it was on the History channel on a Modern Marvels segment.

I'm looking for 1200 blower motors. I do not have access to race fuel where I go so it needs to run on pump gas. I also need trannies and headers.
