Hell of a deal too, even near asking price. :coolcowboy:

notda1 01-20-2012 12:12 AM

There are a few with 5&6's that will do over 100 . IMO you need more than a bravo on a 37'OL , if you want it to live at that those speeds .

Wont go over 100 w 700's. Its a 95 mph boat w 700s and bravos

BuckshotX5 01-20-2012 08:00 AM

XR's on my 37 and its been doing over 100 since 2004. Rebuilt one drive twice and the other drive once. Everybody on these forums say you cant have XR's on bigger boats with power. I am proof that if there set up "right" and you know when to get out of the throttle then there just fine. My boats not an anchor queen either. I run my boat everytime its out.

Remember Wild Child was a F2 race boat. With the Gellners in it ran 102 with four blades and 105 with five blades.

stangkilr 01-20-2012 10:45 AM

so where did wild child end up?

You have to just learn to throttle :evilb: Also a lot cheaper to replace then even a gear set on a 6. Besides you don't a boat long enough for it to be a factor.

302Sport 01-23-2012 10:48 AM

There's been plenty of running repos that went under that number, one of them had sixes too.....

I think the point was that you are going to get what you pay for.

There was one, maybe two, key words neglected REPO's, that sold around this price. The one that had sixes needed ALOT of work done to it and the other ended up being completely redone. For a complete running nice 37 Outerlimits your going to be hard pressed to find one for 75k. Wild Child was a great deal at 85K and was an ex race boat which usually brings less money than a stock pleasure boat.

302Sport 01-23-2012 12:29 PM

Why does everyone always assume that the guy wants to spend $75k for a prestine boat???? Maybe he wants one to go through and be able to put his own touch on.....

Exactly. Especially if you are running mild power you are fine.

richanton 01-28-2012 10:43 AM

Wild Child was a steal. You aren't going to find anything else decent for even close to $75k. Boats in this price range are cheap for a reason. Besides, as far as I can tell most of the steals are gone. The economy has been sh*tty for so long, anyone who is gonna lose their boat to the bank has already lost it, and anyone who was gonna blow their boat out at a liquidation price to keep themselves afloat has already done so. Most of the folks I know who boat a repo boat at steal wish they hadn't done so, because what they really ended up with was a moneypit.

Do yourself a favor, spend more $$$ and buy yourself a nice boat. In the end you'll come out ahead.

Just wait till Gas hits $4.50-5.00 a gallon sooner than later

n20michael 01-28-2012 05:41 PM

I disagree, guys who can drop 200-600k for a boat can afford to put gas in it, regardless of the cost per gallon, besides, a great many people with "money" end up writing off the gas as a "company" expense. Thats not gonna change. It will however affect the "smaller" guys, which kinda sucks.

Which boat?

WildThing47 03-16-2012 11:48 AM

114 give or take a mph...110mph all day...

Bare in mind, if you do not have the $ to run the boat, you're going to be in shock to see what the bills are on the #6s and the 900s...ti's a great boat, but those motors , if they are mercs require allot of valve check and maintenance....

Remember, it's the cost of up keep, not always the cost of the boat...

That boat would need to be gone through completely to make sure there aren't any surprises...

Otherwise great deal for someone looking to step up!
