First OL Does anyone know of the fist OL and have pics of the history. other than the son of Hustler.

sutphen 30 10-12-2012 12:16 PM

i know the name of the company came from a sutphen named "outerlimits".:party-smiley-004:

benjen 10-12-2012 12:35 PM

I thought it was a 37' named Speed Unlimited. Seems to me the colors were split down the middle. Definately the deck was. It was blue on one side and a light color on the other. I can't remember. White, cream, pale yellow. Something like that. I'm not sure who bought it originally but it eventually ended up in Providence. The owner of one of the sports bars right off 195. Not shooters, one of the smaller places by the river entrance.

OL40SVX 10-12-2012 01:16 PM

Billy, the name did not come from a Sutphen as you think it did. If you didnt know, Outerlimits is originally from Long Island not RI. Speed Unlimited was not the first Outerlimits. It was one of the first 100mph ones though. I have pictures of the first 37 ever built that i will scan and post eventually.

How do you know your facts are "facts" when you've received them from a third party? Sounds like you're making an a22 out of yourself on someone elses word:eekdrop:. Please proceed, Kthanx.

Your boat sure has come a long way sense then, I looked at your's when it was for sale in 2006, passed because of the salt water thing, found mine a month later, ran it for the summer & end ended up doing a total rerig anyway, go figure. No regret's still love the boat, & still pouring money in it, just cant help myself.

Thanks yeah I'm really happy with it. Yours looks great also. It's really easy to get carried away with the refit, but if you love the boat and plan to keep it it's worth it. Just when I thought I couldn't spend anymore money on mine, I dropped mid 5-figures on it this summer.

It's a '98 right (forgot)? I'm surprised since the company started 1993. Only 1 boat a year the first 5 years?
