New 36SL
I've never been crazy about some of the OL styling but this new, 2014 36SL is one good looking boat! Can someone loan me a couple hundred grand?!?! Nice performance out of the mild 520s too.
|
We built the boat and could not be happier!!
The boat is amazing to drive, even with 520hp a side!! Full details on Performance Boat Center's website. |
Was hoping to here some talk about this boat, anyone seen or rode in yet???
|
BrettM was kind enough to let me tag along for the maiden voyage at Lake Cumberland. I was blown away by the midrange acceleration given the relatively "mild" power (and the two year warranty is nice!) The fit and finish was outstanding, as you would expect from OL. The freeboard for a boat this size also impressed me. As for the ride, the boat rode very level, even when coming on plane. At speed, it stayed true and never dealt us any surprises, even in the rough stuff at the start of the Poker Run.
I could go on, but I don't want to steal Brett's thunder. Turn-key power and 100 MPH, my hunch is that this will be a very popular model for OL. |
thanks for the info

I have heard nothing but rave reviews from the people that ridden in the boat. Nice job OL and PBC on the new 36SL. I'd like a test drive sometime.

I agree boat looks great and had great numners for that power......question, are those seats stand-up, I checked it out on the web-site and it's hard to tell, do they have a flip up.

That's kind of what it looks like, different, if there's one still there when we get back Id like to try it, thanks Quint.

I ran it at cumberland. Felt quite a bit bigger then a 36. Very snappy and behaved well in the rough water.

Tough question. Similar in the fact that you "drive" both of them in comparison to the boat I have now. (39TG).
Out accelerates the Gladiator and stays in the water better. I'm still not 100% on the feel of the 5 step bottom on the newer OL's compared to the 4 step bottom my Legacy has. But I'm getting used to it. All in all, Cig VS. OL, I'll take the OL. |
Interesting. I know it's not a 'fair' comparison, but how does the larger 39 TG compare?
|
The TG is bigger, heavier and roomier... Like Apples and Oranges or sort of like you are comparing a muscle car to a sport car.
|
Brian's right on. Like a super car vs. a muscle car. I'm liking the 39 a little more now then I did after buying it. I'll be back in an OL soon though....
