2002 Stiletto - 100K???

Does anyone know the story on the 2002 Stiletto that seems like it's being given away @ 100K? I can't recall exactly when Ted Link sold it (couple of years ago I think), but at that time, he had it priced in the 170K range as I recall. Not that it sold for that, but 100K for it now seems like a steal! It was in perfect condidtion when Ted had it, so unless it has been trashed, the price doesn't make sense. A clean #6 37 with what looks to be good reliable power for 100K.....I don't get it.

With that said, I've read some negativity about the quad stepped 37's, but it was just that, reading it on here which may or may not be accurate.

Anyway, that seems like a lot of boat for 100K!

Priced to sell. There's some 42's going for 100 and a half . From what I've heard should be driven by someone with some experience but still a hell of a boat.

drpete3 05-15-2015 12:57 PM

Priced to sell. Ill say.

Griff 05-15-2015 02:39 PM

Seem like a heck of a deal to me too. He dropped the price form 125k last week.
He also has a 42 listed that is priced to sell. http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...rs-o60543.html

Price is great but then again it is a 14 year old boat......How much was this boat brand new 300k?

Unlimited jd 05-15-2015 07:27 PM

Even if it was, hands down no question I'd buy this before a 525 bravo top gun for 100-120k. People are asking almost thT much for similar year fastechs with 500's or 525's seems like a no brainier if you're budgeting around 100k

Hahaha.......that first digit should be a 3.....not an 8!

15 year old, 35 foot boat with 300+ hours.... not to mention a suspect hull. Really has to be stretching for this one. whatever someone is willing to pay, I guess. $100K? lol

daddy 05-15-2015 09:30 PM

42 seems like a better deal.

And all this boat buying, selling and pricing knowledge is based on what?????
Do you know what KE 1100's are worth?? How about what SSM6's are worth??? The engines and drive lines alone are worth 80k.
Please enlighten the masses about how you base your reasonings. Tell us what actual experiences you have.

BTW its 13 years old and 37 feet.

13 years, the hull is 37' 6" (just like a Top Gun), these boats are cored and there's no wood in them other than the transom and the bilge stringers (which are built like a brick sh!t-house), so the hours on the hull is fairly irrelevant. The power can't have too many hours on it as the engines were fresh when Ted sold it. With nice paint, sitting on a Myco, dry sump 6's, and the other hardware this boat is a steal at $100k!

The only issue I see with this boat is the quad step bottom and some folks might not be interested in the big power... but either way it's still a great deal at $100K!!!

I didn't know he was parting the boat out?

soggy bottom 05-16-2015 08:58 AM

What is the issue with the quad step bottom?

Dean

Do a search in this OL forum and you can read what has been discussed about the quad step. I'm pretty sure OL only made 2 of these, but it's been a while since I read the old posts.

Feverz29 05-16-2015 06:03 PM

It seems like a no brainer for anyone in the $100k range looking for a premier boat unless there is an issue. Not sure there is a better deal out there. Excluding a catastrophic engine or outdrive issue, putting money in it your still ahead of the game.

Unlimited jd 05-16-2015 07:42 PM

How much to fill in 3 of the steps? Lol

daddy 05-17-2015 10:43 AM

anyone picked this boat up yet?

notda1 05-17-2015 01:10 PM

Ted had the 37 freshened up in every way , motors , drive , ect . He told me she didn't handle well when it got up into the teens . Ted gotten a price to redo the bottom at one point to help with the high speed issues . He sold the boat before doing that . That was the last I had heard until it came up for sale .

Bostonirish 05-17-2015 02:35 PM

If a 100k is your buget I would seriously consider spending a little more and take look at some 42's. Unbelievable riding hull and it can handle some monster power.

notda1 05-17-2015 03:34 PM

hawaiianhopper 05-18-2015 06:50 PM

I've got a 97 Stiletto with trips for sale for 70k if that helps put the 2002 100k boat value into perspective. Mines a 6.5/10 whereas his is a 9 or 10. Think mine is priced fair. Its fast :)

overlimits 05-18-2015 09:16 PM

That price is unbelievable put more than that into mine and it started off as a clean fresh water boat, and its still only 90-95 mph with BRAVO'S, someone's getting a deal.

Are there any nice 42's with 6's out there at $100k??? If so, I haven't seen them. It's pretty rare to see anything decent with dry sump 6's for $100k or less (other than an occasional Fountain)...

Bostonirish 05-19-2015 08:23 AM

Couple 42's for a bit more. Just saying if you have a 100k to spend there's a good chance you could up the ante a little more for something with a much better reputation than the quad step. 100k is without a doubt a lot of money don't get me wrong. If 100k was your absolute limit then yes that 37 is a great deal. Just my 2 cents

One big difference tho............ 3 bravos versus 2 # 6's.

Not sure if this is what you meant or not, but if 100K is your absolute limit, you would need to buy a 60K boat. Whether it's a 10 year old 37 or the 42, you'd better have another 30-40K ready to fix things or update stuff.

baja27 05-25-2015 03:46 PM

That boat eats parts plus it handles poorly above 100 it has to much lift. It is a pretty boat.

Unlimited jd 05-25-2015 03:48 PM

Turn them down to 800's and call it a day

overlimits 05-25-2015 09:51 PM

Thinking the same thing someone buy this thing already or mines going up for sale and i'll buy it. I'd b ok going 110 in that for 100k

32fever 05-25-2015 10:07 PM

If it's unstable over 100, just run it at 95. Keep rpm's lower and reliability solves some of itself. 95 keeps you well out in front of most in poker runs, and you're only running that a small percentage of the time.

I heard a number of years ago that some triple 37's were a little unstable around the 95-105 range or so, but above that were fine. Maybe the key is adding more HP and getting past that 110 hump. Maybe it smooths right out at 140. Problem solved.?.?.

thunderusone 05-30-2015 03:25 PM

No experience with the quad step.....but mine runs like it's on rails....at any speed...all in the setup.

Rambocj7 06-25-2015 02:40 PM

So who bought this? Noticed the ad was down...

SunsationLarry 06-29-2015 09:09 AM

I missed the ad, was it originally Olivers boat? If that boat was 100k def a steal.....

SunsationLarry 07-01-2015 07:43 AM

SKRAMER 07-01-2015 09:29 AM

I heard a rumor it's here in Mentor Ohio.

Ran-Dom 32 10-15-2015 07:31 PM

Pretty sure I seen it yesterday at XT innovations ... Very nice :ernaehrung004:
