New Pantera 28 single Cobra Power Pics. "Richies"
 

Just tested this new Pantera 28' Single that will be racing in P5 class owned by Mike Berg. Boat is powered by a single Cobra power.Boat ran awesome today!!!

Mike and I tested it out in the Ocean and test conditions could not of been better.There was a storm approaching which kicked the Ocean up to real nasty 5 footers coming from all different directions.I could run 70 MPH out in the Ocean with more in it. Mike is dialed in for P5 class now.Boat interior is solid White with Blue Pantera embroidery and blue bezels. We upgraded the throttle to a Polished Billett Livorsi Marine. We went with a Blue Sea Strainer in the engine room that matched the motor.I will let Mike post on his thoughts of the ride and handling of his new Pantera 28'. We put a big smile in his face as you can see in the picture.

Boat ran top end much faster than we expected.The Cobra Motor ran strong and idled at 800 RPM all day long on pump gas.

P5-28 will be a front runner in P5 class in the very near future. :D

We made up a custom engine hatch for him with double entry Naca Ducts.Boat does have a full cabin.

Cobra Motor pic.We still got a few hours of minor details in the engine room and boat.Cobra is painted Blue and Black Combo with CMI headers.

mike , how did you like the performance of the cobra motor ? i have been considering the new mercuruiser 600 SC on a 28' single like yours but jo told me he would let me know on your boats performance so i can take into consideration. boat really looked good when i saw it at the factory 2 weeks ago , but i must say it looks even better in the water :drink: . i would of liked to have been out on that boat ride with jo on the wheel.good luck with it , beautiful pantera 28' you got there.

I'm interested in purchasing a pantera. Have been watching the site for quite some time and it seems as though things went real smooth for your boat. The boat looks great too. I just wanted to know if you can share some info on how the boat runs, some speed, handling, and definately some questions on the cobra motor!.It looks bad ass! Hey mike,

How has that cobra powered boat been running ? You guy's tested it a few weeks ago before sarasota race, have you had a chance to try anymore props and get her dialed in. Are you gonna race her soon, let us pantera fans know what's up.

Mike has been out putting seat time and getting use to the attitude of the boat in different water conditions.I went out with him last week and been giving him some pointers.

If he feels comfortable and ready to race he may possibly race at Deerfield. The motor certainly runs strong and has good throttle response and acceleration. We installed an Aluminum swim platform on the boat as per Mike's request. He also enjoys pleasure boating with it. I took these 2 pictures last week while testing with him.

The Boat Run's Real Good Engine Is Strong.
I'm Still Unable To Run Full Throtle Out In The 3 To 4 Ft.ers .im Trying To Get Used To How The Boat Reacts In Difrent Types Of Water .
I Will Be Going Out With Jo Racer To Learn More About Tab's And Drive Positions :) :)
I Think He Will Help Me Out A Lot On How To Run Boat Properly In Rough Water .
In Flat Water Balls To The Wall But Any Body Can Do That . Learning The Rough Stuff Is Where It Will Be Exciting .so If I Fell Comfortable In The Next Couple Of Weeks Im Going To Try To Race At Derfeild.
I Only Have About 15 Hours On Boat .so I Do Need A Litle More Practice. I Think If I Can Get A Good 4 To 6 Hours Next Week With Jo That Will Help Bring Up My Ablity To Run In The Rough Stuff .
With The Huricane Rita Passing Threw This Week It Should Be Good Rough Water Practice For Me .
So I Will Keep U Guys Informed As I Improve.

hopefully i will get a liltle more out of it with a lab prop and some more practice with trim control .

I Will Not Be Racing This Year Theres Only 2 Race's Left.i Have Not Ben Able To Run Boat The Last 10 Days I Had Some Surgry And Not Able To Go Beat Myself Up Yet .
I Will Be 100% Ready For The Next Season Of Racing .
I Will Put Plenty Of Time On The Boat Over The Next 5 Months Or So Until The First Race Of 2006 .
I Wish I Could Have Started Racing A While Back It Just Was Not In The Cards For Me .
My Boat Is Brand New I've Only Had Boat For About 1 Month And Still Have Under 20 Hours On It .
So They Say Practice Make Perfectand I Will Have Plenty Of Practice.
Maybe Not Perfect .but It Will A Be Alot Beter Then Rushing Into A Race With Not Enough Experince.

I Had The Boat Out The Other Day Just For A Quick Spin .it Was About 2 .f.ters. And Got About 78 M.p.h.with 3 In Boat And A Litle More Then A Half Tank Of Gas. I Still Think A Few More M.p.h. With More Practice .

The "all white" Pantera is the EX-Tim Gallagher boat, refurbed, new motors, drives,interior and obviously less graphics...the boat's finally running the way it should.
