Miss PatriYacht returns ..........

Miss PatriYacht has returned home to her birthplace in N. Miami, Florida.
Here's a few recent pics of her during her final days on Lake Norman here in N.C. |

Fred,
I sent her to Miami to be sold, much better market there. People have the opportunity to see many boats while visiting the Miami area as opposed to just seeing one at the expense of a trip to N.C. Who better to market & sell my boat than the family / business that has built them for 30 yrs? My recent change in employment & the fact I travel 35+ weekends a year don't allow me much time to enjoy her. Only 26hrs, what a shame. The pics don't do it justice as I had to resize them for OSO. Jo has the original files for anyone that wants to see them. |
Re: Miss PatriYacht returns ..........
american express , i told jo i would be stopping by pantera this week and looking at the boat up close.i see you have the sink and cooler option in the cabin.great looking pantera 28' :drink:

Re: Miss PatriYacht returns ..........
Gorgeous boat, it must hurt to let her go.

Re: Miss PatriYacht returns ..........
Thanks Speed, Trick & Cuda!
Everyone told me the 2 best days of owning a boat are the day you buy it & the day you sell it. I can't say that I really agree. To be honest i don't think her new location has set in yet as I've been out of town the past 2 weekends. The first nice day I have off I think reality will set in. Of course I can always find an excuse to take an E-saver to Miami & have Jo take me for a spin in the rough stuff if it gets too bad! |
Re: Miss PatriYacht returns ..........
A good chance for someone to buy a bad azz boat, I will stop by the shop to see it again.

If you don't like the paint, repaint it...probably cheaper than the new price increase over what ML will sell it for. Price a new one with similar power and you will see what deal it is. |
Re: Miss PatriYacht returns ..........
SpeedBuff,
I appreciate the kind words. Obviously there's no sense in misrepresenting the product especially when others are taking time out of their personal day & or traveling at their own expense to see it. I understand about the graphics. It's difficult to order a boat the way you want it & also consider the next guy & resale at the same time. If I could do it all over again I might have gone vinyl since we wrap complete race cars in some very wild & detailed schemes these days. Hind site of course. Von Bongo is correct, painting would probably be less than 1/2 of what I'm losing in comparison to what I paid for her, not to mention inflation & last years Pantera price increase. But in all fairness no matter how great a deal one might offer on their item for sale if it doesn't appeal to the potential buyers eye (or wife/ families eye) then it will more than likely be a no go. I know b/c I'm very particular about my toys as well! Feel free to contact me directly w/ any questions. Michael |
Re: Miss PatriYacht returns ..........
i have talked to jo recentley about a new 06 pantera 28' with a single 525 efi and a 600 sc and his new pricing has gone up about 20 % - 25 % but after comparing it to a few other brands with the parts that are "standard" with the pantera it is still below or in line with the few other brands that i have looked into at the miami show and on the internet.i will show the boat to my wife on saturday and see what she thinks.i personaly think the boat is just awesome and has a "complete" look with the sterling motor matching the rest of the paint.i will email you next week !! thanks

i forgot to ask jo today but how much rpm do you turn the motor at w.o.t. and what gas are you running ?
|
Re: Miss PatriYacht returns ..........
Speed Buff,
She turns approx 5450 w/ a stk 28 B1 prop at 80mph 1/4 tank 2 people & decen't conditions. She's capable of more but I never got my hands on a 30 B1. (didn't feel like shelling out $900 if I was going to sell her) I did a back to back test w/ a labbed 29 B1 (made from a 28) but even though throttle response improved the engine had to turn approx 300+ rpm in order to reach the same speed as the stk 28 (like 79mph @ 5600rpm) . The 28 is a good all around prop but I bet a 30 or labbed 30 would show a decent improvement. Sterling set the rev limiter @ 5600rpm but I've never been on it. The motor came w/ a 56 upper blower pulley & was estimated to be making around 3lbs boost (gage wasn't funtioning properly at the time) Currently it has a 54 on it which is the most you can change (-2 teeth) w/o having to reprogram the EFI. With a new gage & hose it puts out about 5lbs of boost @ WOT which is still very conservative. There is a 55 pulley also, so all 3 are included w/ the boat. Sterling recommends 89 octane but we only have 93 here so thats all she's ever had in her. The same KE 675 is capable of putting out 825hp w/ the addition of an intercooler, pulley change & EFI reprogramming. All the internals are fully capable of handling the additional 100+ hp, I just didn't really want a scoop. If you'd like to speak directly to Mike D'Annibale @ Sterling (owner / president) let me know & I'll put you in touch w/ him. Michael |
Re: Miss PatriYacht returns ..........
NICE BOAT! And tastefully done! I'm sure someone will snatch that up in short order! A real beauty!!!!

Re: Miss PatriYacht returns ..........
Oh for gods sakes, that just about the most perfect 28 foot boat every built!!!
|
Re: Miss PatriYacht returns ..........
Boat looks awesome Michael! Too bad you're selling her. Good luck with the new job.

Re: Miss PatriYacht returns ..........
Thanks Ron. Sounds like you've been enjoying yours hooking up w/ others in your area.

Re: Miss PatriYacht returns ..........
Speed- for what it's worth, your wife will probably be all over that boat. My wife loves our 28 and we bought it from Mike (VonBopngo) in a similar way, one yr old, 40 hours on it.
I've brought up going back to a cat, or perhaps 32-35 V with twins but every time I do I get the "look". She loves the cabin, ride, bang for the buck, large hatch for laying out. It's rare that I do, but I can put tabs down, tuck the drive and hold 20 on gps easy for a tube or wakweboard too. Just a great all around boat. |
Re: Miss PatriYacht returns ..........
Paint, oh my goddness  why would anyone want to do that. The PatriYachtic graphics are just perfect, as is the name :D :D Michael sorry to hear you are selling the boat. Did you change companies, I thought you liked not traveling any longer. Donna

Re: Miss PatriYacht returns ..........
Donna,
I appreciate the kind words but as much as I may have liked my weekends off I wasn't happy overall. It just didn't end up being a good fit. I've returned to Hendrick Mspts where I worked for 11yrs previously. It's home & I know that now more than ever, something I wouldn't have known unless I pursued that opportunity. Things happen for a reason! |
Re: Miss PatriYacht returns ..........
american express, still have plans to stop by pantera on saturday and look it over with the wife. :p

Re: Miss PatriYacht returns ..........

Not the best pics (taken w/ my phone) but here's an example of a racecar that was completely wrapped in decal as I referred to in post #11. The words, #'s & associate decals are all layed on top of the green base & flames.
A boat would be way easier as there far fewer curves / radiuses going on than on a car. |
Re: Miss PatriYacht returns ..........
Excuse me for being nosey but is that Kyle's ride with a Lowe's logo on it in the background? If I didn't already own a boat I'd buy yours tommorow. I saw it in person many times when it was being built and it is awesome.
|
Re: Miss PatriYacht returns ..........
DD,
It's actually Boston Reids ride for next weekends race @ IRP. Kyle drives the #5 Kelloggs NEXTEL Cup car w/ a few special guest apperances in the Lowe's #5 or #57 Busch car. |
Re: Miss PatriYacht returns ..........
That is a sharp boat.
