Prop question for single engine 28 Pantera owners
#1
Looking for some advice on what you are running for props. Ideally HP500 owners.
Are you using RH or LH rotation?
What size are you having best luck with?
Any comparisons with 4-Blade vs. 5-Blade real world results?
Thanks in advance.

Tired a 25 3 blade. Awful -kept blowing out.
Have a 24 RH Hydro on there now. A little better, but not much.
Trying a 26 RH B-1 this weekend.
Really curious to see about 5 blade experiences. I guess now more specifically against 26 B-1's.

I know that Todd Blythe was runnin a 26 B-1 with a 500hp. he was running 70-72mph. at best. I doubt that you will get more than that with 470hp. You can try to raise your X Dim a bit. you may pick up 2-3mph.
what kind of speeds are you hitiing now, at what rpms? I doubt that a 5 blade will help you.

You might want to try a turbo 24 or 26, they are a progress pitch prop. For labing try precision propeller in Indianapolis Ind, ask for Kevin, 1 week turn around. Another thing you might want to look at is getting rid of cup in the blades, cup does not give you bow lift, it is basically for hole shot and blow out when turning, if anything it will knock a couple of mph off, I run a 31pitch , pitched to a 32 at the end something new we tried, amazing results, same top end as a 31 iwas spinning at 5800rpm , now spinning 5600 and no cup! the boat planes great diameter is what gives you bow lift or stern lift, not cup
