I think your right. ( Depending on how its trimmed) 5500-5800
74mph is with less than 1/2 tank and a passenger or two

hmmm..if you can turn a 26 at 5800, you should be running around 77 78
you might need a 2" shorty

Two years ago with Tim G. and Pantera24 Angel on the boat I did 94 mph with my 540 blower motor at around 5800 rpms and a 31 Bravo. It takes alot of ponies to move the 28 into the 90`s. That was with a 871 blower with only 7 lbs. of boost. Now the new motor is a 582 ci 1471 with intercooler and 1050`s 410 cfm Dart super ported heads with 10 pounds of boost should bring me close to 100. Bruce is going to drive it :D :D Man I love this topic SPEED.......

Thanks Griff, Well I now a guy down the road that has a blown 540 with a super chiller I think it's a 671 blower. It comes with carbs to oil pan with electronics and race mounts and a few other things. He wants 12k. I think he said it was detuned@700HP with only 4-5 psi for boost.
I wish my xz drive would handle it.

I think my wife would poison my food if I started to get that glazed look in my eye for more power.

Speeds are never enough, their is always someone faster out their, dont hesitate to jump all over that blower motor or your life will never be the same.
