Morgan hits Long Island Sound

3 Attachment(s)
Hey Guys:

Morgan and friends came down to LIS this past weekend to check out his ride in some real water. I think they had a blast. the weather was perfect and as the day progressed the Sound got to be it's usual slop. Morgan got to see the sound flat in the morning and then chop a bit in the afternoon. Let him try the Hydromotvie 23p5-x labbed and the boat performed superb. I'll let him post the results.

I've uploaded some pics. Along with us was his friend, Trevor and his 26 Sonic which I believe had a single 502.

Jromy from OSO also joined us with his 33 Powerplay with twin 525's. So did Indy from OSO with his 33 Powerplay with twin 502's.

All we need now is for us to get together again with Sonny, Domenic, Anthony Mone, Peter Russell & Bill Senack and a few others and we can really tear it up. :D

Nice to meet up with you all (finally!!). Did Trevor ever get that impeller fixed?

That was a great time out there! Nice meeting everyone. Where was T-Mone? I'm out of town this coming weekend for a bachelor party, but the Glenn Cove Poker Run is this weekend so you guys should set up at one of the card stops to check out the hardware.

Re: Morgan hits Long Island Sound

Ron , thanks for the pic's , we had a great time in your playground . The water was awesome and it was fun to run along with a few other guy's with heavy throttle hands .

Thanks for letting me try out your props . The labbed 26 run's great and shows some good top end #'s but once I put on that 5 blade I couldn't believe how it changed the whole attitude of the boat and really rips in the rougher water .

Spoke to Jo at Pantera Yesterday an gave him all of the info on the different props , He is said he will send out a new stock 28 4 bade for me to try this week . I guess we'll see if I can turn it .

Trervor will be good to go , turns out it was a stuck thermostate that caused him to run hot , also the impeller and pump will be in ups today , they were a far cry from perfect . He just bought boat last week and it needs a little maintance .

Hey Mange , the boat is a Grey Platnuim gel , no white on this one . Looks like you guy's are having fun over there too .

Indy:

I'm in for Saturday, call me on times...should have the babe with me. I think T-Mone wants to run also...don't know what day Sat or Sun. I'll find out.

Re: Lake George Columbus day...if I can get a real truck, I'll make it. My Aviator can do it, but it's getting tired.

We really had some fun....Sound is ready for new takers.

Morgan, glad I could help.

HAPPY BOATING EVERYONE...

Re: Morgan hits Long Island Sound

Guys,
Would be great to get all of you up for that weekend! I can help with Docks if Bob runs out. It's a great day, Bob does a real good job putting them together. I still love the way he has the cops at the drivers meeting to let us know they will "cut us some slack" but nothing over 60 MPH and 15 min later we all go by at 90-95. Next year I would love to come down and spend the weekend with you guys, pick a weekend and I'll put it in the book.
SB
PS Morgan, happy to see you happy!

JROMY 08-23-2006 03:27 PM

Re: Morgan hits Long Island Sound

I'm definately going to shoot for the Columbus Day run. It will also be a perfect way to flush the salt out of the boat and trailer before I store it for the winter.

Re: Morgan hits Long Island Sound

Hey Indy and Full Throttle - better just head to Sand Hole....

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun last weekend. I have definitely seen Full Throttle 525 a few times in the Norwalk harbor. Havent spotted the Powerplays yet. My 22 scarab is pictured below...pretty hard to miss. Last weekend I was out on my friend's 32 skater...I'm sure some of you have seen it...purple, orange & yellow graphics. We hit 111 mph on the way back from the Crabshell.

Where is this "sand hole?" I spend most of my time at cokenoe and the Norwalk islands.

Re: Morgan hits Long Island Sound

I haven't made it South (west) of Bridgeport this summer. Seem to always head to Port Jeff or North. Have Indy give you the details on Sand Hole but it's over near Lloyd Neck on Long Island. Neat place (basically a hidden lagoon), but it is TIGHT getting in and out.

Gladhe8er...Does that Skater launch out of Vets? I've seen a Skater trailer there a number of times. You've probably seen my trailer there...white F350 pulling a South Florida trailer for a 33 PP. You're more than welcome to come over with us and raft up when we get a nicer weekend. JROMY, FT 525 and some others will make the Sand Hole trip as soon.

Yup, the skater launches out of Vets...so do I. We both just picked up our boats this year. He runs twin 575's in that thing.

Upon blowing up some of the pictures on this thread, it looks like your boat is the one that is parked at Cove Marina all the time. I was real close to buying a twin outboard 25 PP last summer...kinda wish I did...

I see you're from Wilton. I work above Chou Chou/Gap.

If I see any of you guys out there, I'll stop by and say hi.
-Pete

Indy 08-25-2006 04:58 PM

Re: Morgan hits Long Island Sound

Yes that's my PP :D That 25 would be a good choice for a smaller Long Island Sound boat, but the Scarab looks sweet too!! If you see me out on the boat stop by and say hi, I'll keep an eye out for you too. I'm down at Cove a lot too messing with this and that when I'm not out, probably give it a coat of wax tomorrow since it's not looking to good to go out...Steve

Gladhe8ter,
Do you have any pics of the skater???
It seems like you guys have alot of places to go down there. Where do you guys boat out of??? Im out of Old Saybrook. We dont get down to that end of CT or LI often . It seems like we should run down that way. Anyone mind if a Cigarette joins along sometime???

I will get a pic from the Crabshell restaurant in Stamford up on Monday. I have a nice pic of my Scarab, the 32 skater and a 38 Cig Top Gun lined up at the dock.

I always launch out ot Norwalk. I usually stay between Bridgeport and Stamford with an occasional jaunt to LI.

Anybody have plans for Labor Day weekend? Our out of town trip might be cancelled and will probably run around here if we stay put.

What days are you guys thinking about going out over the holiday weekend ?? My wife and I would love to check out the sound with some experienced guides, :D maybe check out Claudios ???

Only place I know where to launch is CT river in old-saybrook, under 95 bridge...

Indy 08-28-2006 07:38 AM

Re: Morgan hits Long Island Sound

Chris...come down to Norwalk, it's closer, a nice ramp and there shoud be a bunch of us around this weekend. We'll tighten up plans as the week progresses.

here is the pic from the Crabshell a coupl weekends ago. From left to right its a 38 Cigarette Top Gun from Scarsdale, NY, the 32 skater and my 22 Scarab.

I will be in Lake George this weekend. I got a ticket for breaking the decibel limit a month ago so I am going back with the silent choice on to get it reduced.

Indy 08-28-2006 08:11 AM

Re: Morgan hits Long Island Sound

Nice boats!!!

Ok...there seems to be enough of us around willing to get together for the Labor Day weekend. I started a thread in the Poker Runs and OSO Gatherings section to get this thing going...lets post over there and make it happen!!!!!!
