Re: Take a look at three digit this weekend
How did you run?
What's the HP again? I had a mishap and need to start my new engine sooner than expected. Also thinking of the Konrad ACE drive. Did you ever try a box on your boat? |

Re: Take a look at three digit this weekend
Albert what kind of lower is that. Does it have a nose cone?
Only 95mph  :D |
Re: Take a look at three digit this weekend
Has anyone tried a box on there 28 without a notch? How'd it perform. The Konrad has about a 10" set back.

Hey Albert,
Have you kept any record over your rpms/top speeds with different props? I would like to know what slip # and top speeds you have with Bravos and Hydromotives. Have you ever tried a std Merc lower instead of that Imco one? If so, any differences in speed, slip and handling?! Thanks, Tomas |

Have you ever tried a std Merc lower instead of that Imco one? If so, any differences in speed, slip and handling?! Thanks, Tomas I`ve only made three passes at full throttle and don`t plan to do anymore. All but two were with the old Gen 2 exhaust. 31 H6 Hydromotive labbed- 6200rpm`s 102 mph 15% slip 32 Px5 Hydromotive labbed-6200rpm`s 100 mph 18% slip the two above were with the Gen II`s 32 Brave labbed- 6300 rpm`s 101 mph 16% Gen III`s This was pumping 11 lbs. of boost using race fuel making the motor at around 1050 hp. Remember Tomas, my motor is alot bigger than yours 584 c.i. with a 14-71 and two marine race 1050 on top. Dart fully ported 360 aluminum heads and a solid roller cam. With respect to high speeds, I don`t plan to achieve these speeds anymore due to the nature of the beast. I have achieved my goal and don`t need to impress myself anymore. At 95/97 is plenty fast for me right now and there are very few boats that can keep up with me at 90 mph. |
Thanks,
I was just curious to see if the slip# stay around 16% even at those speeds with the notched Panteras and they apparently do. I'm not trying to outrun you... Hahaha What about your race engine then? Any numbers? |
Albert, If your going out this weekend let me know, I'll be out.......

Tom I had the motor detuned at around 650 hp when I raced it. I made it from a 540 to a 565 last year and put a larger cam and gained 80 horses. The motor is for sale with dyno time only for $11k. I`d imagine that I can run close to 87 with a 740 all day. |
Albert, any pics you could post of that engine here?
Is that 11k w/ exhaust? |

I guess I was bit modest, it actually did make 750 hp. The motor belongs to Bruce now. However, I have the motor with me since I built it last year.

Did mesa just do the dyno, or did he have anything else to do w/ it?

Rob I only use Mesa for all my machine work. I do all the assembly for both race boats. Mesa is by far the top dog when it comes to machine work. I also use Tommy at Chief for most of the dyno work. |
