Bob,
I'll call your cell later today or call me at 365-4409
T-Mone,
No problem, after watching you run, I think I would rather be with you!!!
FT,
Regarding the mufflers I say you go another way, remember the best quote ever "drive it like you stole it". I have those CMI's, have not been tested but I don't think I would ever pass. They do keep the cops away but in a pinch who knows. They don't take long to hook up and once they are on not much to fuss with. If you get them, take the set screws out and put lock tight on them, I blew the guts out the first day but no issue since then.
See you all soon, pray for this good weather they are reporting.
Jo,
Heard a rumor that you might come up???? any truth??? I have room at the house if you are. Call me and let me know, looks like Bob has this thing up to 80 boats and there is a stong "pantera" showing. Jump in the truck and join us.

Hey Ron I have a pair of the cmi mufflers I you want to use them I bought them for mine from Fred, but then went to a bigger tail pipe so now I have no use for them. You are more than welcome to try them to see if they work for you. I had them on my donzi for about 2 weeks and they really made it quite. Don't buy them just yet try mine first.

Guys:
Thanks for your assistance. I'm not sure if I can just slip them over the pipe. I think my system has to come completely off and a new pipe installed then install the mufflers over that. I may be wrong though. I'll have to look at it tomorrow when I'm polishing the boat.
I believe the sweatshirts should be arriving today or tomorrow for those that wanted them. Looking forward to some nice pics.
I'm sure everyone at Pantera will be proud of us all getting together.

Ron if you have a 4.5" tailpipe then they should work just fine. Although I'm not sure how Pantera did your pipes, but usually even if you have some kind of silent choice the tailpipe should still be the same diameter. Someone correct me if I'm wrong! They really do just slip over the tailpipe and clamp down.

I was on the CMI site and it looks as though mine do clamp on However, I'd have to disconnect the small tubes that run from the pump to the muffler to try them out. What type of CMI mufflers do you have? I could look at them on their website. I have someone calling me from CMI to see if they have a different muffler to replace the one I have. I'd take the chance with the switchables if I could get the decibels lower.
I really like the way the 525 sounds when I'm open. Not too many DEP guys out on the sound giving tickets. They like to stay in close to shore so everyone can see them doing their job.
Thanks for your help.
Ron

Hey Ron, I have the full time mufflers, but after like 1400 rpm they open up all the way and it doesn't even sound like you have mufflers they are basically only in use at idle. Which is why I got them. There is no loss in speed because they are only restrictive at idle.
They are the CMI sound elimination mufflers. I got them from Fred at trick marine. They are a 4.5" diameter and I think they have a 6" can. They are made for the 525 and up. I know when ordering them Fred he asked for the motor specs because they come in different can sizes depending on motor size/Ci. I can bring them with me this weekend so you can use them. I don't mind and that's the least I can do for you all being so courteous for inviting me.

Fred will be there with the full setup of CMI's. We will also have a certified Mercury Master mechanic at the docks to assist with install. He will also be there to help with any assistance anyone might need during the day of the event

We are running the CMI Sound Elimination Mufflers on several 800+ HP boats with no problems. They pass the stationary idle test and then full open over approx. 1300 RPM.
They work very well and I'm sure you will like the sound closed and open.
We just returned from the Grand Opening of CMI's new manufacturing facility in Neenah WI. They will be improving order times and quality with this new facility.
Have a great/safe run!! Call us for all your CMI Exhaust and Muffler needs, we will save you money!
