When I was boat shopping, I looked at a couple of Apache 28's in addition to the Pantera's. I was told that the 28' boats weren't "real" Apache's. I'm curious how that worked. Kramer when to jail in 1987 or 1988 right? Did Saccenti build them thereafter?

I've read the Apache forum a bit and I see that Saccenti and McManus build boat with Apache lineage along with Saber and some other builders that claim to have the molds.

Maybe this isn't the right place in the forum for this, but you guys seem to know what you're talking about so I though I'd ask...

The 41 is the only Saber that came out of an Apache mold.
The 28 Saber is an original design. I know that Saccenti built
some of the 28 apache's after the Kramer days under the unlimited marine name , I also believe that Cherokee boats built some 28's also. As for McManus I know he builds some of the bigger boats but I am not shure about the 28. I am shure others on here can shed some light on this subject but maybe that helps a little. As far as the original question goes I can't speek for the 28 Apache because I have never been in one but I can speek for the 28 Pantera & they would be awful hard to beat as far as ride , quality construction , rigging , & also wave crushing ability . They also have good resale & that great classic look. ( as does the apache. )

From what I was told the 28 was primarily Bobby Saccenti and Eric Froberg. Came from a stretched 26 Manta, or Monza. One of the two, I can't remember. Apparently the boat was being stripped for the mold when Don A. was shot. I just sold my 28 Apache to Powerplay Dave. This topic was discussed here before, my theory is they are both great boats but unles your Joe/Pepe Nunuz or Bobby Saccenti no one will know which one is better. I have run next to a 28 Pantera and my buddy rode in both. He said my Apache rode better. I never had a porpous problem, just need lots of power to move them.

I have a big motor and plenty of seat time, love to play with your Apache/Powerplay some day. Here is a small picture of my Mig 28, see you soon. Albert
