Yah, my wife is still a bit sensitive from the car racing (and the insane and "inexplicable" spending that went with that). So, I think she'd have a tough time with me putting a new motor in a boat I've had for 2 months... It's just a tough sales pitch!

I've been meaning to monkey with props a bit. I think this header thing will give me a good excuse... And to get off my butt and get a GPS so I can quantify the results.

Rodshop, great info! Thanks.

Begin with the end in mind so you dont buy parts twice

B-Stubb, thanks for that. It's something that has been echoing through my thought process all week.

Based on reading some old posts, I don't think I should bother trying to pump the boat up much past 450 - 500hp (one way or another). It seems like the law of deminishing returns kicks in around 450hp (based on comments regarding speed and handling).

The Stainless Marine exhaust is on the boat now (I got a nice price installed and a quick turn around on it). I figure that even if I do swap motors, the exhaust is something that I'll need. Then once I get out of trouble for the exhaust and GPS that I just put on the boat, I can look for a reasonably price motor with better heads and a steel bottom end (again shooting for 450ish hp).

I'm also going to try a 4 blade Bravo prop or a M+25 (24?) this weekend as well. We'll see...

Stainless Marine exhaust is a nice upgrade and you will feel a difference...
