wow Angel, I thought I worked my tail off on mine....I think you got me beat. You did a nice job on that boat.
|
Angel, the boat did come out awsome.
I kept a pic of the dash to copy for mine, except when the time came i went w/ purple. I saw the boat in Ft Myers when i tested mine b4 purchase. It was having some Nascar SBCs put in it. I'm sure the guys got too much $ in it now... at least to ever see it back. BTW tom, Angels boat went to the plant for Jo and Pepe to do. And thats the best way IMO, if ya got the coin. Thirsty... any recent pics of your 28? |
Hey guys thanks. Yea I went to Jo and Pepe told them what I envisioned as far as graphics etc and they worked their magic. The graphics were vinyl ! but did look awesome.
Actually the engines that were in it were the one's built by a Nascar Crew chief who was the first owner. The guy I sold it to decided to swap the motors out and put Jasper rebuilt engines from I heard !! |

Angel, Jo told me that your small block boat was beautiful, but I hadn't seen it before. Man that thing is a knock out! Probably my favorite graphic that I've seen to date!
Good luck with Nick's old Scorpion! I can't get into specifics just yet but... I am starting an organization called www.Race2Cure.com The website should be completed in the next couple of months and I hope to make an announcement along with the opening of it. Angel |
UPDATE
The test drive went very good, but the mechanical inspection not so good. Speed was around 65-67 which is were it is supposed to run, but its a little slower than my 24 python I just sold. Here is a nice little laundry list for anyone interested 1) Starboard side manifolds, risers, and heads (replaced with siera heads, not mercruiser) have all been replaced, but the port side has not and desperately needs it. The port side manifolds are leaking. 2) The engine hatch motor is going out - actually its out because it wouldn't go up anymore by the time I tried it. 3) Port side floor behind driver seat is soft. I don't know if its rotted or what, but if it didn't have pirelli floors I probobly would have fallen through. 4) Cabin - Xtremem Marine told me about $800 to reapholster - my mechanic said ya right more like $2,500. 5) Interior tie bar is completed rusted and looks like it is about to break in half. 6) Both gimbal rings need to be replaced. So the steering is basically f##ked per my mechanic, but you could probobly get another season out of them. My mechanic said I'm looking at $5,000 right there. 7) lots of little things like some covers missing here and there that have left the fuel pumps exposed to salt water, one of the alternators is about to go out (bearings are going out). Cheap siera engine filter. Basically looks like it has not been loved in a long time. And what lovin was done to it, was cheap. I figure an easy $10,000 to get her where she is supposed to be, maybe a little more. So what do you think? I told him No Deal for $45k. Would $38,000 be a good number or should I just drop this boat alltogether and wait for another one. Right now I'm thinking dayum..... twins are expensive. Maybe I will just wait till a good 28 single comes along, but its just so pretty........ 38,000+10,000(repairs) = 48,000 for a solid boat, which is about what he was asking and it ought to be worth that to another buyer. I don't know if he will take $38,000 or not. |
i'm witholding my $0.02. :et:
|
I would say that if there is that much it needs, expect to find more problems and add another 5k easily.
|
Texoma,
Listen I've had twin smallblock's which are less of a headache financially and physically when trying to change plugs.! Unless if your stuck on this boat ... DON'T do it. Wait and either find a well taken care of BBC or SBC twin or better yet wait for a single....my .02 for what it's worth. |
I agree with Griff , If you can see that much you will most always find more when you get into it. I have never seen the boat & am not the type that ever throws off on other peoples stuff but the boat does seem as if it has been neglected a bit.
Save yourself some $$ & come to TN is a month orso & tow mine home with you minus drives & possibly minus power. If you don't like the paint , I do know a half way decent painter that may be persuded to paint the sides for a little extra $$ :D |
Walk away.
