My receiver is integrated into my gps. I mounted my gps to the left of the compass pedestal and to the right of the hatch. I can see it well from the seat, I get good reception and the wiring was easy. If I had a remote antenna, I'd probably put it there or on the opposite side of the compass (assuming I got good reception. Photo tomorrow if I remember.

I'm just not sure I'd receive a decent signal with the receiver mounted vertically.

Here's where my gps is. The senders I've seen are all mushroom shaped and designed to be on the roof or deck, so they should be mounted up right.

Could you tape yours on in a potentially appealing spot and then run the boat up the road on the trailer to see if the speedo gets a signal? Or is there a display on the speedo that tells you when you have sufficient signal?

Good luck Kirk, I can't wait to her how she runs and see some video!

Kirk, as far as the GPS antenna, I would get rid of the standard compass and mount the GPS antenna there. I would try and mount it flush. You could probably fab a bracket under the dash to hold it and use a bezel/plate on top if needed.

Griff that was colder than Nebraska! 62 degress with 10 - 20 mph wind. The sunny sothern California thing is a myth!

To quote my wife (this morning) "well if you don't like it, YOU can move to Miami, but you have to take the kids!"

Hopefully it will be 70 on Sunday. Oh well, cold air means more power!

And I though you were going to give me the business for drilling holes in your boat!
