The all white 6 man bolster boat was the 1st Pantera 36' we delivered and originally it was powered by twin 588 CI 650 HP carburated engines with IMCO reinforced Bravo 1 drives. Then a pair of 900 HP blower motors were dropped in it.

Thank you for the compliments.

Mercruiser, Innovation Marine, Keith Eickert, Chief, Mesa, JC, Cobra, Zul, are all top engine builders. We would recommend any on that list.

Here is the Keith Eickert 675 SC powering Wylie - Rat's 28'.

I love the look of that motor!

That said, I swear with all the noise restrictions, you'd think that turbos would be a no brainer. It's like a muffler that gives you an extra 500 hp!

What about Ilmors?? Anybody have any experience with them? Heard a pair of them on a V30 Adrenaline on YouTube, sound sweet as hell, but I don't know how they perform or if 1400bhp is enough to push a 41 footer.

I heard (in a bar as a matter of fact) that the Illmores don't make enough torque for big heavy old school v-hull boats and that a blown BBC is a better option. I've never even heard an Illmor run, let alone run one or been on the water with one, so take that for what it's worth.

Hmmm, that is interesting. 've never thought of that. Since they are higher rpm motors they probably do have less torque down low. But, you would also run a smaller prop to spin more rpm so I would think it wouldn't be an issue.

Just my $.02
