Why are these boats so hard to find used???
Anyone know of any other Pantera's for sale other than this sites classifieds and boat trader?
|
I doubt it. Anyone with a Pantera knows that 99% of buyers looking for a Pantera will look here.
As a side note, there are probably more 28's for sale right now than I have ever seen at any one time. |
BTW, I know the feeling of not being able to find the right boat. Try looking for a 32 AT. I think there are 1 or 2 for sale nationwide.
|
Good point.Just havn't found the right one.
|
G Man Just What Is It Your Looking For?
|
A reasonably priced 24 for now. Would consider an older boat but not one that needs redone. Been there done that. I am very pickey as it relates to condition. Will step up to a 28 single in a few years. The two 24's in the classifieds fall into the needs redone catigory.
|
I think theres plenty for sale. Did you check out the recent threads that listed the offsite panteras. Most all of them are still for sale.
|
What about the Army boat? I'd call Jo and Pepe, they usually have a line on the boats that could be for sale...
And, a lot of the boats that aren't for sale are for sale for the right price. Just ask Griff... :D |
There's a 24 Superboat for sale in the Tulsa area- Jayhawk261 - should be able to find him in some of the pantera threads. It's newer, clean 454magefi, new AL trailer, around 30-35k??
|
Gman, i'm confused. Didn't you just buy a boat?

I think G's looking for an older less $ boat. I bet that boat could be had for around 20K if someone is serious. It is a buyers market, money talks... |
i think the 28 for sale at Shogren is the best bang for the buck.
the Sonic Boom boat might be for sale too. 95 28' with 6 packer. No cabin. I think its still available. approx 35k And, for the right price Albert might even part with his pride and joy. |
I can get you financing up to 15 years on the ARMY 24' at a great rate with a low payment if you are interested. The boat is turn key and ready to go.
JO |
I love that Army boat. Have it on my screen saver. Also love it in the video on the other post. Mine doesn't have sound though for some reason.
I like and think the boat at Shogrens is a great deal as well but needing to change the interior and cabin etc $$$$$ Back to square one where "done" 28 are priced. The blue boat in the Boat Trader has the right equipment but the upolstery looks beat. Also, bad pictures. Maybe that's worth a call for better pics ......... . |

A friend of mine is looking for a Pantera 24/28, complete, around 30K $, is that an possible equation?
|
Probably not after you spend the $$$ to ship it to Finland...
|
His budget is 30 000€, so if he buy a boat for around 30k $ he will get it home on his driveway for 30k €.
|
Now's the time to buy there is lots of great looking Pantera's for sale. I've been salvating over the 28 footer at Shogrens for a couple months now. From what I hear, the boat has been for sale off and on for about 3 years now, I hope it can wait for another 3 to 5 months. Also watch out on interest rates on 15 year notes they are around 7.9 to 8% maybe even higher, unless you finance over 50k, I checked into it on the Shogren boat.
|
Most rates are around 7.25. In my experience most boat dealerships like to add around 1%. If you deal with the bank directly and no middle man you should be able to get 7.25. I bet Jo can get even better than that.
Luuk - theres a 28 racer for $27,500 1993 with new outdrive and low hours on 750hp blower motor. I've heard it needs new interior, but not sure about that. |

Where can I see some pictures on it? Is it a 2,3,5 or 6 man bolster? Do you know if the seller is motivated to sell overseas?
There is a thread on this boat already. It was listed on craigs list last week for $27,500 |
I think that's really more of a pleasure with a race fairing. I was thinking you were talking about something more like Sonic Boom. Guess she should have taken that "insulting" offer in the $30's last year!

Dan, here you go... http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...d.php?t=120217
There's another thread too, but I'll let you test out the search function on that one! |

Sounds like a great boat from the thread. I just emailed them yesterday about the boat and something happened to the XZ OD and needs to be repaired... I don't know what is wrong with it or what it'll take to repair. Found a brand new XR drive for 6500 in the classifieds, any thoughts???
I'd just have to get rid of mine first. |

I'd just have to get rid of mine first. Well I guess there are really no suprises now with that boat. No wonder she dropped the price down to $27,500. |

http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...d.php?t=161630 There was one 1977 stamped hull 24 that has been completely redone with new interior for $29K. I'm sure you could get it for $25K |
I'll bet that bravo either let go on a shift out of neutral, when someone hammered it coming out of the hole or when the prop surfaced and re-entered without being throttled. Costant load at WOT probably wouldn't nuke the drive its the application of the torque not the steady state that blow stuff up!
Albert's got big power behind an XR and it's bomb proof (with proper technique). Seems like a good excuse for further reduction to purchase price and then take the savings and buy and Imco. I think they're $10k or less ($6,500 sticks in my head for some reason). |

I think they're $10k or less ($6,500 sticks in my head for some reason). Could be... but she/he whoever replied to me mentioned something about the mechanic. "Unfortunately the outdrive needs to be repaired due to an incompetent mechanic..." I'd still be interested in the boat. I'd switch to an Imco or XR like you mentioned. Prolly, get it for less than 27,500 the way it sounded. Spend 25 plus 7k for a new drive 32 deep for a great boat. I couldn't tell much about the interior though from the pics. |
I've seen this 28 Pantera in person several times and it's going to need some TLC. It looks like it was built a while ago and someone didn't keep up with it. I think that it may have been pretty nice at one point though. It does have a race style faring and even though it has that fairing somone made a cabin underneath. It just all exposed under there. Meaning it doesn't have a cabin door or anything thing call me if you have any questions. The other thing is that I heard that the boat has gone through numerous drives. Don't know why but I heard there has been many on it!!!!

Here is a picture of what the boat looked like originally.I am almost sure this is the boat before the owner did all of the changes to it on their own.
