Thanks socalstone! you were the one that started this whole thread that helped me find this boat, and learn about it before discussing the deal with Scott. Thanks Dude!

I know, I still cry about it sometimes!
No problem man.... like somebody said- the right buyer hadn't found her yet. I was good to go with desire and cash, but had recently purchased a new boat with a 600 (= chitty trade-in/resale). The unanswered engine issues (and there were issues) stalled me and I didn't have time for a project.

Glad you got her. That is a kick-ass boat through and through and I'm looking forward to more photos through your rebuild. keep us posted!

Well I finally finished the swim platform to match up with the all white Pantera. Turned out nice, stripped it then coated with self etching primer for aluminum and finished white.

Next weekend up to the boat for 2 days of work to finish the engine installation! :p Then the waiting begins .......

Nice job,
Do you have a telescoping latter for the platform?
If not I have one from my old platform that may work for you.
The guy I sold the platform to did not want it.
$100, PM me if interested.

Pat, thanks!

Actually I have a four step stainless telescoping platform that I have already drilled the mount holes for before refinishing the platform. I'm just not sure if I'm going to use it or not .... I'm worried about it dropping down by mistake and dragging in the water. How was your ladder secured?

If you need gauges or rigging, let me know. Full Line Livorsi now!!!

The Extreme Marine ladder I have has a metal latch that grabs the tube from the inside. A spring-loaded button with a shaft that pushes the latch open to release it.
Once secured, it has never opened while running. I have had to disassemble and lubricate a time or two because it has gotten stuck closed.

Not the best pics, but...

mikeb4 01-30-2008 09:26 PM

I see .... it collapses and then lifts and slides into the mounted base .... kind like a rail system. Very slick ..... my ladder is just hinged to mount bases, no way to capture when collapsed. Thanks!

Great Weekend

Had a great weekend completing everything on the motor except the power steering plumbing. A couple of hoses are turned due to clearance issues but nothing major.

I really like how the exhaust tips turned out, they are straight tips (without flanges) with the internal baffles that fall right into the prior dry pipe set up rubber seal and trim ring. Just a little 4" hose to connect to the Uni-Tops and Voila'. I added Hardin external flappers as well mostly for looks.

The sea strainer, oil filter, oil cooler and other hardware worked out well also ....... I'm very pleased with how everything turned out ...... wish I could light it off! :cool-smiley-027:

Dude! Sweet! 02-04-2008 11:55 AM

Mike, that thing looks awesome! I dig the stainless fittings on the sea strainer! I turn a little green with envy every time I look at your boat! :D

Thanks Dude! I looked all around to find the stainless ballcock and stainless nipples so everything was the same. I used polished stainless hose fittings to wrap it all up. This strainer was a lucky delivery ... the last item sent by Trick until I got screwed on a couple other pieces.

A few things bug me but I will have to live with them .. some of the hose routing is not cosmetically optimum ..... this thing must have damn near every instrument in it! lot's O' sensors! LOL!:D You can tell I'm a rookie ...... I can't beleive how clean the pro's rig ... they make everything so clean and simple .....

BTW - I keep wondering where your new thread and Tom's threads are?? there MUST be news worth reporting to us freezing boating deprived winter people! we want to live vicariously through you two guys!! :evilb:

Dude! Sweet! 02-04-2008 03:09 PM

HA! I'm waiting for pistons! Nothing to report as yet. Motor's still in a million peices! I'm hoping that I'll have it all back and together within the next couple weeks.

tomcei 02-04-2008 06:31 PM

Too funny Mike. Boat looks Killer!!
I was wondering the same thing about Dudes thread.:D
Of course ya'll are doing the same :party-smiley-004:
