That was/is a good engine. We never had any problems with it. It always ran well and that little blower made a great sound!

I was actually standing next to Casper when I took that photo of the oil pan. That thing is a beast! I could look at the bottom end of that motor all day... (Don't tell my wife )

Here's a couple of photos of the new motor (aka "Casper") before it left Miami and back in the good old days. I may not have the Mig, but I have a little bit of it's spirit our here in CA!

Everything looks awesome Dude!

Are those the CMI Unitops that you modified? what is the power gain on them vs the sectioned manifolds like the Dana's ??

I am really struggling with exhaust choice performance vs low cost, thanks!

Thanks Mike! It will look even better under a bad-ass scooped race hatch!

Those are CMI's. That's what was on the boat. I've been told, by people I trust, that the SMI Gen III make significantly more power than the CMI unitops. People do love to argue about it though!

But, I had the CMI's and it was a grand to modify them, vs. buying SMI's and doing the tails, so this is the route I went for now.

mike, i think w/ the power you're putting in, you could use the SM GenII. Something nice about a 5yr warranty.
They don't look to bad eiter.

Great news on that also, I have a buddy that runs an exhibit company and they will crate the hatch and may be able to help with negotiating freight. I'll try to get you the best deal possible ........ stay tuned!!
