Race fuel?
yes, and spare drives will be nice.
I think you need to build another one just like it and then rig the boat for twins.

Now you just need some 5 bladed drive breakers to run that beast

I was thinking about building another one and keeping it on the shelf so I don't have to wait 3 months next time it blows!

Ah the drive... Albert made his XR live behind a 1,200hp blower motor so I'm hoping for similar luck, but to be honest, I'm guessing that I'll be on Fred Inman's xmas card list next year! I've got an older Imco SC on the boat, with brand new interals. I'm not going to buy a second one yet, but I know I'll end up with a second one at some point!

Like I said, the way I see it, I'm going to have all the fun and expense of running twins with one less prop! But heck, there's tons of guys running twins, so it's not like it's THAT crazy, right? HA HA HA!

Just dropped the boat off at Matt's. Should be able to test on Saturday if all goes smoothly today and tomorrow. Matt's rigging a new electical fuel pump (the mechanical pump couldn't hang with the motor), and then we should be good to go.

The testing plan right now is to run it "as it was" to get a baseline and see what the motor's personality is all about (we've started calling the motor "gravedigger" becuase I think it's going to kill me, either out of frustration, wife-inflicted gun-shot or by actually being hairy in the boat! ).

So, Saturday we'll run it with the touched up 26P Bravo, the 3" spacer and the non-nose cone merc LWP lower that's been on the boat since I bought it. Helloooo rev limiter!

Next weekend, hopefully we'll be able to try a shorter spacer and a 5 blade Hydro and/or Herring (I've access to like 5 hydros and herrings right now between 27 and 32). I'd also like to try a Maximus at some point, but I don't have a loaner yet.

Finally, if it likes the 5 blade and the higher prop hieght, then I'll put on the Imco lower that I bought and see where that gets me.

So do we want to play our top speed guessing game yet or do we hold our cards close until we see what she does on Saturday? C'mon... I dare you!

I had the same plan of keeping a spare XR ready to go just incase.. However due to the all farmiliar "budgetary restraints" I decided to let it go.. maybee it will show up around here somwhere

I am with you on Alberts power & XR it gives me some hope... However I doubt I will make the power your motor made , but it still makes me nervous.

Dude, real nice dyno numbers, not sure where your rev limiter is set but with that 26 inch wheel you will see 80 mph around 5800 rpms in about the first mile with all that motor.

I think you will need at least a 28 or 30 labbed 4 blade to get the big number out of her.

Try some 5 blades, mine likes the hydro and runs real flat in the rough with it.

My guess all dialed in is 89 mph, but it will take you a few prop changes and a little wheel time to get it.

Good luck and have fun

I'm going to start with a 6k chip in it, like I said, just to get a baseline with the motor as the only change. I'm guessing that we'll be pretty consistent with your estimate and on the chip in no time! Then we'll start messing around with props and drive heights. I'm guessing a big 5 blade wheel with a higher propshaft height and some revised weight distribution is going to get me some good results, but the only way to find out it to try it. GPS doesn't lie!

Phil, your boat looks great, but who's that kook driving it?!

The boat's over at Matt's. We'll see how it goes. You'll be able to hear us start it from your house!
