Tom, Did the mercruiser oil pan work with the 4.5" stroke 572?

I'm not sure the model pan but it is a "canton"
the old 540 had a canton also but I sold it. This one is suppose to keep the oil off the crank better. ?
I can find out about clearence w/ the merc. set up if you want.

Mike, It would run right at 80gps and hit the wall.

I just sent the bolster bases to the powder coater tonight.
It looks like the modification should work out OK.

Everytime I get the email notice for this thread, "Flying High Again" pops into my head! Such a fitting theme for this project!

I thought that you might be running a 500HP 540" Merc Bulldog pan because you always had a tall deck. Do you like the Canton Pan? Thanks, Chris

I don't know how it compares to others, but. it seems well made and reasonable in price. Nice workmanship and all.
