stick w/ the hair dryer. Point the dryer so the heat travels toward the area your fixing to pull on. It takes time.

AR15, Heat gun on low should do the trick. Acetone then to remove the glue if it does not come off with the decal. Not hard to tell when its getting too hot. Just work loose a corner and start peeling. Sometimes you get some large pieces going. I always feel good waxing just after the acetone and they always look good.
I have never had to use any type of scraper and would avoid that.
Good luck,
Greg

Oh also ..... pay no attention to that tomeci dude. He's got a screw or two loose!
Really, I ask his advise all the time. Do what your comfortable with!

got all of the decals off. USed the heat gun and alot of manpower/beerpower. I was pretty loaded at the end of 8 hours of working on it which was nice:p My decaling guy is coming to put the boat name on this week.

Looks really good back in black........I left some of the decals just took off all of the green (I am not a 'green' guy). We ran the buffer over it and started to wetsand some of the areas where the old decal guy scored the paint. We are almost done now and it looks fantastic.

I also decided to leave the race numbers on the front....for now at least.

We did alot of work on the trasiler last week getting it 'Canada' legal and I am hopefully going to have plates on it this week. What a pain in the ass. NIce to have trailer mechanics right at my shop though and stockroom filled with parts and hardware for wiring.

We are doing a minor interior modification this coming weekend. I am opening up the back portion of the boat but I have to put in a support system behind the bolster because it needs to be supported according to Jo/Pepe. We have a full shop with every tool imaginable and my dad knows how to build most stuff so we drew up a plan thie past weekend and we are going to build som aluminum support beams.

I want to have the back open with some grab handles and no seats for this summer to have some room for more people and then over the winter I am going to have the inteior completely removed I think and put in a brand new one exactly the way I want it.

Hope to have it in the water by the first week of June.

Hey Adam, you best start looking into some FULL TIME mufflers for that sucker. I have been told that the OPP are going to be sticklers about the muffler law this year.

ar15meister 05-15-2008 03:21 PM

****ty.

Whats the penalty for violating that law???

tomas_wallin 05-15-2008 03:42 PM

Looks awesome!

swing by and I'll show you all you need to be legal. Not quiet, just legal :)

Dude! Sweet! 05-15-2008 04:27 PM

I just put a set of the Gibson bullets on my boat (with super loud dry stacks). The boat was borderline unbearable when the exhast was open and it got it back to a very reasonable volume with the Gibsons.

Boat looks rad, by the way. Good luck!

bouyhunter 05-15-2008 05:04 PM

Boat looks Badazz!!
Shake her down good, and get a good feel for her.
Look forward to hearing the results:D

Heading all the way to Hamilton to buy some Joe Gibbs race oil this afternoon and some WIX racing filters. Grabbing the drive oil tomorrow and we are changing fluids tomorrow and going to pull the plugs, clean em and regap them.

We came in at 6 this morning and yanked the Pantera out of the warehouse. My decal guy is coming by today to put the name on the boat.

I have decided to name it 'REBEL YELL' and the name is going to be a sort of rebel flag theme thing that our graphics guy who does my trucks came up with. Should look pretty good. I am going to put decals on my truck too but that will wait because I still havent put a hitch on my personal truck (which is all black with blacked out windows and black NASCAR rims and BF goodrich AT's :p--should match the boat okay). We are going to pull it with our little 3500 Dodge dually we use to pull one of our 1 car trailers. Well actually my dad is going to pull it up North with my mom and I am going to run the Z06 with my girlfriend:party-smiley-004:.....sometimes having no room in the tow vehicle works out in your favour! Plus I am not licenced to drive the company rigs yet because I am under 25 and our insurance company wont let me so I coudldnt drive even if I wanted too. Thank god my old man is into this **** too!!! Cant wait to get my truck ready to tow so I dont have to bug my father everytime I want to use my boat.

The guy whose cottage we are heading to happens to own a couple of Offshore boats (Scarab and Cig) and has a huge boathouse with two lifts for boats up to 45 feet. He has his own launch ramp in the boathouse too so it is convenient. Old fasmily friend (my old man was in his wedding party) and he is going to teach me some stuff this weekend about how ton run this boat. I am really excited but also nervous--like back in the old days when I played Junior A hockey before a big game!

Should be a great weekend despite the fact that the weather forecast is not too good.

Dude! Sweet! 05-16-2008 12:59 PM

A few years back a buddy and I cooked up a drink that we call the "Rebel Yell"... It's Mountain Dew and Maker's Mark. Suprisingly tasty and sort of a cousin to the "Blaster" (Red Bull and Jaeger). Yee-haw!!

we ran the Pantera this past weekend again up on Nipissing. We only got 79mph on a 28p 4 blade bravo @52-5300rpm on GPS. Got the 26 and 27 to test this weekend if the weather holds. We think she will do between 82-85 once we work everything out and figure out how to trim the bugger right.

Sunday it was really rough. Nipissing is very shallow and pretty big and it whips up nasty. My buddy who is teaching me how to run this boat couldnt beleive how well the boat was responding in the rough water for its size (he has had manyOffshores and still has a Cig and Scarab--not to mention a sweet ferrari and a twin prop plane--qualified teacher)

We had her flying through the air with him throttling and me driving and then we switched and I (obviously) held back alot more but did get some big air off a couple of them.

Bottom line--Pantera makes a sick boat, I am so happy with the raceboat setup it is fun running with two guys.

This boat makes every fast car, sled, and bike I have ever honked on look like a kids toy.

Friggin Awesome.

ps- me and my buddy's son who is around my age ran the boat just before dinner/sunset to a bar on the pier in downtown North Bay and picked up some broads too! They didnt like the 2 man only setup but we told them they could just kneel in the little cubby cabin.....didnt work--*****es:(

Airpacker 05-28-2008 04:36 PM

North Bay broads? Did they have all their teeth? Were they 16 and pregnant or did they just pop into the bar from the reserve?

As for air time, you want the number for a really good drive rebuilder? :evilb:
