Von Bongo 04-23-2008 04:47 PM

Didn't even know it had come up for sale

Dude! Sweet! 04-23-2008 04:57 PM

Been for sale for a while. That's an awesome buy! You sure got the right boat for what you were looking for! Good luck man!

ar15meister 04-23-2008 05:05 PM

I am picking it up this weekend.

I am happy that Jeff didnt advertise this boat for sale too much!! It is a helluva boat with some pretty serious hardware and it leaked down perfectly, surveyed perfectly.

I was very thorough in this deal and have been working on this deal for about 1.5 months. I didnt want to say anything on OSO in case the deal fell apart or god forbid somebody tried to scoop me.

The owner was always honest about everything, he didnt bull**** me one bit. He was a pleasure to do business with.

This boat is so badassed and I have plans for the decals and name and a redo of the interior into a sort of race pleasure hybrid type setup.

Perlmudder 04-23-2008 05:07 PM

congrats man, that boat looks so sweet, good to see some cool hardware coming to toronto, not really too much in this area

onesickpantera 04-23-2008 05:19 PM

WOW! Congrats. That is a great boat.

Did Panteraman28 own that? I remember him posting it was for sale on your thread.

bouyhunter 04-23-2008 05:34 PM

Congrats!!

TexomaPowerboater 04-23-2008 05:36 PM

AWESOME BOAT Adam. Congrats. Do you have to have a boat license in canada? Be careful and take your time learning how to drive.

ar15meister 04-23-2008 05:56 PM

you do need a licence to drive one in Canada.

Panteraman28 owned the boat.

Now it is comin to Canada.:evilb:

This thing is a real beast and she is going back to black, all decals are coming off for the most part. I want it to look like a stealth bomber!

socalstone 04-23-2008 05:58 PM

well I have to finish off the trailer form 2 and all that bull**** next week with RIV. I also have to register this thing and do all that crap.

We should have her in the water by the following weekend.

If you are serious I will take you up on that offer 110 percent.

I want to run it a couple of times in the current configuration and then I am going to pull out the bolster and build my cockpit interior so I can have the boat ready for MAY:D

I will post some more pics tomorrow and again when we pick it up. I am probably going to keep this thread going throughout my process of learning to drive and modifying this boat and update it with pics and videos.

at least all of you guys actually give a **** about the mechanics and the skill in driving these suckers...my buddies have heard more than enough about compression and drive ratios and cockpit ideas and they are now only interested in how many strippers we can fit on this thing (ok I am also interested in that:cool-smiley-027:)

tomcei 04-23-2008 08:40 PM

I've always thought that boat was tough stuff.
Nice job!!

I remember the post when he said it was for sale. Then I never heard about it again. I'm guessing that's when you started working the deal! :cool-smiley-011:

Absolutely Adam. We can splash it at Humber Bay and go play in some Lake O rollers and chop. Learning the T hand is whats going to keep the drive on that sucker. I have a Harbour Lic so we can go run slalom around the Korean row boaters too if ya like :)

BobTheBuilder is often in Port Credit or G bay. 1 bagger is local. I run LakeO, Simcoe,Couch. the muskokas, G bay etc as do many others I boat with. CatAstrophe is also local, as is pull my trigger.

We all run in the Performance Boat Club/ DoubleR's poker/fun runs on Simcoe 3 times a summer as well. Usually 20 to 30 or more nice pieces there.

Lots of sunny days you'll find several of us hanging at Big Chief Island on Couch takin in the "scenery" right Alec? :)

Lake O gets boring. Not too many places to go and just chill, the water is kinda gross unless you like greasy scum lines too but we do run there sometimes, just no swimming in it.

I figure one trip to the Chief and Adam will be trailering to Orillia on weekend too. Way more fun than just driving around in Lake O.

Contact BobTheBuilder here on the board. I don't think anyone has shipped boats back and forth across the border as many times as he has.

and I don't believe that our licencing laws apply to "visitors".

the procedure for formally importing a boat and temporarily doing so will be quite different.

Send me a PM and let me know what border point you want to bring it across and I can get in touch with all of my guys at Canada Customs and either tell you what to do or get you in touch with the right person to make it as smooth as possible.

Our business is cross border shipping of cars and I have done a couple of boats in the past as well, just never one coming in for a vacation (usually it is the other way around!)

Cheers,

Adam

Airpacker 05-05-2008 09:10 AM

well??????????????????????

ar15meister 05-05-2008 06:00 PM

well...we havent done anything to the boat except start making the trailer Canadian legal so we can register it and insure it. This weekend I went to the office to start taking the decals off but clients started calling and people dropping in and eventually it was 4pm and I had to leave. Sunday was more of the same.:(

We are hopefully going to have the trailer ready and registered this weekend. We are then going to start on taking off the decals cause I want it to go back to black- any ideas on a good way to take em off? We were heating em and trying to pry them after work today and it wasnt working too good. I was usung a blowdryer instead of the heat gun so I didint burn the gel, maybe I need to use my heat gun or apply some stuff to help.

She is ready to run anytime once the registration is done. I am just waiting for some warmer weather. I am leaving in the bolster for as long as possible cause I dont want to tear apart the interior and then be down for 1-2months. We might just leave her as she is for the summer. No decisions on that yet.:cool-smiley-011:

Today seems to be a bit of a turning point in the weather so I think in the next 2 or 3 weekends we should be able to get it into the water.
