I finally got my boat back from the marina after replacing the transmission and re doing the trs drive.... I took it out for the first time today and I am def happy with it. I noticed a few things that got me thinking and would like some input....
The boat seems to only like having the drive fully down. I can bump it up once or twice but any more then that and I can hear it wanting to cavitate. right now it has some 23 3 blade cleaver prop so I am going to try a 24 bravo 1 tomorrow and see. is this normal???
also on the speed. I was only able to reach 49 kts which is like 56mph my rpm's were right at 5k maybe 5100. I was expecting a little more.... should I be? it is a 454/330 merctrans trs setup with emi thunder exhaust. at 3k I am doing about 28 (all gps)
I noticed on my trim tabs they do little to nothing though they are the boatleveler so I am not expecting much but also my left switch controls the stbd tab and vise versa... that normal?
Thanks in advance and I will be sure to update on the bravo prop tomorrow hopefully. and I try to get some pics up as well.

that TRS and tranny are very heavy, also, the drive is very deep in the usual setup..........both tranny and drive rob a lot of power and the drive drags significantly...........at 330 hp with that setup, assuming tach is correct, seems to be slipping a lot.....20-23%........
as far as the tab switches...if they are bennet tabs, usually Bennet switch controls opposite side tabs.......I like the switch to operate the tabs on the same side of the switch....... and up is up and down is down (usal race setup).....not typical "bow down" setup..........

I took the boat out with a 24p Bravo1. Much better to say the least, with 4 people and a cooler I was able to get 60 in light chop. I was also able to trim up much more, my indicator is iffy so not exactly sure how much. I believe the rpm's were just under 5k to get 60 this puts my prop slip around 20% what affects this and how can I reduce it???

Best I saw was 74.8 in 2ft-3ft washing machine slop, not straight on... spinning 5700rpm, 93oct.
Ziemer has her now, and w/o any changes(afaik) he's running 78... i think she's now broken in.
I only had 65hrs when i sold it... after one season of use.

That sounds about right with the power you had.
