Anyone know this pantera

http://www.boattrader.com/listing/19...42-HP-91276512

This is the link for the boat. Looking to see if anyone knows anything about this boat. I know all the pantera guys seem really close.

After shopping for over two years at all kinds of speed boats started with checkmates and own one, then looked into Apache boats with the really high price. the guys in the apache section of this site started talking about pantera's and for the price and the support of the owner of the company its a great boat. then after going to the St. Clair race and seeing the lines and see the boat race it was the winner boat.

So any info on the boat line is always welcome. looking for a 24 or 28. but the newer design boat with the windscrean. btu hard to find. and love the idea of Twin motors i/o's. but being a mechanic how bad are the twins to work on?

I find it odd that the Pantera pictured is sporting an Apache style grpahics package.

I would prefer the Pantera over the Apache, regardless of price. Well made boats, great support, and no drug running history... :)

what are are you trying to spend i got a 1999 28 twin 454s i will let go for 39k

slpcamaross97 08-02-2008 02:34 PM

Its a good thing that the 80's style and colors are coming back. LOL i really dont mind the grpahics on the side but could do without them too.

slpcamaross97 08-02-2008 02:39 PM

I would say price range would be in the mid 20's. i call Pire 57 where the boat is lised through which is one of this sites sponsors and yet not to get a call back on the price of the boat in the link

mattcrabtree. you have a link for pic of your boat? thanks Kyle

Just talked to Pire 57 on the boat its a brokrage boat selling is stuck at 40k is what hes firm at. Owner has told sales crew boat has 502's but sales man who inspcted the boat thinks that they are actually 454 or maybe bored over 454 but not a true 502 blocks. 81hr on fresh motors no idea on total hrs for the hull. boat has been redone in 2001. but what should something like this be worth? for a deal on the boat?

The fact the owner is claiming incorrect engines means you should walk away from this boat; who knows what else is incorrect, untrue, or improperly done...

I'm pretty sure the painter that Pantera used in the mid 90's also had painted some of the Apache's as well.

this is the one thats been for sale for a while all over the place

TexomaPowerboater 08-03-2008 10:22 PM

The boat has been for sale for a long time, but mostly because the owner wouldn't hear anything less than $50K. I offered him $40K a little over a year ago. If your serious I would go check it out for yourself. The owner said the graphics are just a sticker and can come off.

bigboat28 08-04-2008 09:54 AM

I to heard the graphics was vinyl, I talked to them last winter and they said 35 would buy the boat, I talked to them again about a month ago and was told the same as you that the owner now wanted 40.

rlj676 08-04-2008 10:02 AM

If those are truly vinly stickers, why in God's name would they still be on there?

Taking those off would triple the calls on it I'd think. Something seems fishy overall to me.

slpcamaross97 08-07-2008 05:55 PM

he can keep the boat for 40k. and all the bad info on the boat with the motors... just a bit fishy but ill by one if its a deal not if the guy has bumped his head.

Jake1250 08-07-2008 06:26 PM

which boat? 94 or the 99? motor issues?

mattcrabtree 08-07-2008 08:21 PM

the 1999 hase no issues but trying to find money for gas

MIAMIBOYZ 08-07-2008 10:37 PM

I think that 40K is far from what it`s worth. Those graphics kill the whole value of the boat. Just my 02 cents.

slpcamaross97 08-10-2008 04:01 PM

still keeping an eye out for a great deal.

JO - PANTERABOATS 08-11-2008 03:25 PM

That 1994 28' was built for a customer from West Palm Beach in late 1993 while located in Thunder boat row. Gail Paik did the custom paint work on it. Boat was powered by twin mercruiser 502 - 390 HP big blocks.I heard the boat was up in the North east for a while then went to the Florida panhandle.

Have not seen the boat since it was delivered in 1994.

JO

slpcamaross97 08-18-2008 10:44 AM

Hey thanks Jo. the guys asking price is a bit high. their is a member on this board with a 99 and hes asking pay of which is 40k. so ill buy that before this boat.
