Pics of boat on Pantera's web site.
http://www.panteraboats.com/28specs_sgl04_02.html

$78,000
2004 28' Pantera with a 496HO - 425hp.
It is completely turn key.
It runs 60 to 62 mph on GPS in any water.
Thats with a full load of fuel and 2 to 4 people.
This boat rides very smooth and handles great
no matter how rough the water is.

This boat is the same size of some 32'-33' twin
engine boats. It handles like a bigger boat
but it's got the economy of a $ingle engine.

The hull only has around 265 hours on it.
The old motor blew up with 112 hours on it.
Mercury replaced the blown motor with a brand
new one on 6-17-2005. The new motor has
approximately 150 hours on it.
I have all paperwork available for inspection.

wild thing,

i don't see where i'm getting a bargain here. it's tooo far in your favor...

there are 04's advertised with bigger engines and more goodies for 15K less.

There has to be someone out there with my new boat...

does anyone know where the yellow "killer bee" is? i heard something about chicago, that boat i like.

Stormrider 09-25-2008 08:25 PM

good luck.
you're gonna have to find someone down on their luck to give their boat away.
Let's make this thread interesting... and throw out some bids on what you see offered here.

Dono77056 09-25-2008 08:58 PM

Not going to find a lot of Pantera give aways unless someone is hard up for cash, especially on newer boats. Kinda insulting asking people for a bargain, feels like dealing with a used car dealer. Probably better luck on the Baja forum due to larger production runs. Just my two cents.

jmenendez5 09-25-2008 09:13 PM

being straight foward

don't feel insulted... i work full time in the marine industry and i'm going to get the most bang for my hard earned cash. i'm sure we will find someone that is ready to move his/her boat for whatever reason (they could simply be buying something else at a bargain to them). i see lots of boats being sold here (over a thousand) i don't see that many ads for people buying without trades and cash on hand... not beating around the bush... just being honest.

Elite Marine 09-25-2008 09:22 PM

Are you the guy that offered me $ 25,000.00 cash?

If it was you, you know what my reply was...I dont need the money, the boat is paid for and that is a stupid offer!!

We all know what we have and trying to "steal" it is not going to happen. If you think you are going to get that sort of deal, you might as well look for a Bayliner. These are some of the best built boats made and dont need to be given away.

Interesting that this has been the place for your first post without any other questions or inquiries about Panteras. I sense you are not who you pretend to be.

jmenendez5 09-25-2008 09:36 PM

NO. I called you, you told me you would get pics of the boat during the weekend and you have not replied... i have not made an offer to you on your boat.

Pantera24 09-25-2008 09:51 PM

The best overall deal to date is the 27' Activator that just got listed minus power....damn sweet.

Dono77056 09-25-2008 09:55 PM

Theres a lot of boats bought here without trades...cash doesnt mean a whole lot to a seller so long as you have financing in place. Cashiers Check/Wire Transfer....better to ask for help in what your looking for and give a range on what your willing to spend. Your numbers might be low for what you want but its your money. Your conducting an acquisition not coming to the rescue of a seller. What are you willing to spend?

Where are these boats with bigger power for 15k less?

And BTW Pantera's hold their value pretty good, if you want a bargain I suggest buying a Fountain or a Baja.

What you are asking for comes with a price tag.....

Airpacker 09-26-2008 08:15 AM

Hey Adam, I'll give ya fifty bucks and a 24 of Carling for that resin bucket of yours :)

jmenendez5 09-26-2008 08:31 AM

15K less... beleive my brother!

check it out... powerboatlistings.com

btw that is one of the reason i want a pantera, i'm not asking you to sell yours... but you might know of someone...

Stormrider 09-26-2008 08:59 AM

The one in AR is von bongos old boat, and is one of my favorite paint jobs and boats.
There is a thread on here about its build... do a search.
Been for sale on/off for some time. Should be able to deal on that one.
That would be a killer buy at $55k!
some may be deterred by that engine though.

You said you wanted a Pantera.
I simply posted my boat.
You never even made me an offer.
But I know what it will cost to replace it.

It is not my job to get you a bargain.
In life you don't get what you deserve.....
You get what you negotiate...nuff said!

If you like Von Bongos old boat for the money buy it.
You might be able to talk him down some but that
is a great deal, why didn't you buy it????
Something tells me you want a Pantera for nothing.
Would $55,000 do it? How about $35,000? $5,000?

Everyone always wants something for nothing

Stick to the Bayliner forums:eek:

Stormrider 09-26-2008 10:50 AM

BTW, last i heard afaik, killer bee was underwater...
so that should be a good deal.

That is what I heard.
Should be a great BARGAIN though:angry-smiley-038:

BTW I think Kennys (Von Bongo's) Pantera is a 2003.
http://panteraboats.com/ownersgaller...tID=55&page=12

To my knowledge there were only three (3) - 28' Panteras built in 2004.

baddogz28 09-26-2008 11:35 AM

I'd take $30k for mine. It's not for sale but just throwing that out there.

91 Pantera 28
2x502's, recently rebuilt
Imco steering
Stainless Marine exhaust
Brodix heads

I'll sell you mine, but it's not going to be cheap. :drink:

2001 28' Pantera
540 cid 651hp.
Myco Trailer.

jmenendez5 09-26-2008 12:03 PM

i'd be very interested in killer bee if anyone knows who i can contact, i think that's one of the coolest 28's in my opinion... the paint job on "vongos" is not what i'm looking for, but i would be willing to buy it, the owner does not want anything less than 60 for now. it could take a little time but at 55 we would be almost at the price i'd like to purchase that particular boat at.

Stormrider 09-26-2008 12:19 PM

did you try contacting Pepe or Jo?
That should be your 1st place to look for one.

TexomaPowerboater 09-26-2008 12:29 PM

Velocity Rick, Baddogz28 - WTF? didn't you guys just buy.

Jmenendez5 - a better idea may be to throw out your budget and hope someone bits.

is now combined with the Seagay forum:evilb:

Ahhhh....
Now the truth comes out.
He wants a 2004 Pantera for $50k
Von Bongo's old boat is majorly discounted at $60K
Better buy it quick
:food-smiley-007:

Good Luck:cool:

Von Bongo 09-26-2008 01:00 PM

I don't know what shape my old boat is in, I assume good. If so $60K is a heck of a deal on that boat. It was the first with the foot wells, NACA ducts, cooler, sink, shorepower, ITS & XR.

It ain't your run of the mill pantera.

It cost more than twice that 5 years ago.

People get too hung up on paint. It all comes off!

I believe that Kenny Blume bought that boat from Von Bongo - I also looked at that boat when Kenny was trying to sell it before his ex-wife got it - That is a very nice boat for a heck of a price... Lots of extra goodies...

I don't think he wants to buy one... He wants to steal one.

Hopefully nobody takes one of these lowball offers from this guy- that would only devalue the rest of the boats in this crappy market more.

Dono77056 09-26-2008 02:16 PM

Money talks BS walks...at this point we're knee deep...put your budget up and what you want. Maybe someone will bite. Does anyone know how many 28's are out there in that year range with a single set up. Less than 20 Maybe? I think Jo or PePe estimated about 1K boats total have been built in the last 30+ year. Gonna be really tough if your wanting a deal and way to picky.

Dono77056 09-26-2008 02:19 PM

The 99 with twins in the classified looks like a deal or better yet buy non powered and do it your way. Seems like the non powered's in great shape bring over 40K in that age range..I might be wrong.

i much prefer a single, but i could consider a twin...

If you are serious about buying a pantera you would know this, and not be asking us.

But to be on your side, i don't think you are looking to steal a boat. VB's old boat would be a great buy at $55k. If you can wait to see if the $ comes down... great, or you could pony up $5k to get the boat now and get it and not have to think about it...
in the long run paying up 10% than what you hope to buy it for and... $5000 in the long run of boating... is nothing.

Stormrider 09-26-2008 03:17 PM

BTW, best deal is seans (griff's old boat) w/o power.

jmenendez5 09-26-2008 03:48 PM

i like Bongos boat... if it had a different paint job i probably would have offered 55. nice new paint 5k (i might find one that i like) the reason that the owners price does not have much margin for negitioation is because it has a bank note. by the time they sell the boat, it could very well be that they will have forked out more than 10k in monthlys and insurance...... sometimes you have to lose to win. Been there, Done that!
