Update and Pics on 1993 28 Pantera Project

After alot of time and work the boat hit the water. Upgrades include Supercharged 515 CI 800 HP Fresh Ateco Blower motor, Imco Xtream Drive 1.5 Ratio Spinning a 28 pitch Bravo one soon to be upgraded to 30 pitch. No GPS speed yet however walked a friends cat running 77 GPS with 28 pitch and I mean walked hard. Boat also features a newly done carbon fiber race dash with carbon fiber vinal to match. Plans for new Gauges and throttles this winter. Hull was stripped down and resprayed all white before a vinal wrap was applied. Lots of custom ceramic paint work done in engine compartment, Braided hoses ect. Boat was rigged and is maintained at The Boat Yard in Fox Lake Illinois 815-759-1800

Nice Boat.

Do you have any "Before pics"

Is that a Black thing a Keelguard on the front?? Never thought of running one that high?

mikeb4 08-19-2009 07:50 AM

Having inspected the boat "before" I can really appreciate all of the work you have done! first class .... congrats!

Yes that was us leaving North Point last Wed. boat ran great only problem was I lost one back seat cushion but it was worth it lots of fun went to Navy pier and back. As for the wrap it was done by Lajit industries 815-759-9800 great job and its holding up to the water pounding it a high speeds and tied up to the dock with fenders as well.

I will post some video as soon as I can get it back to the water. We just did our first valve lash adjustment and before we put it back together we are waiting on the new two piece valve covers from KE. Instead of removing the headers each time for adjustments two thumb nuts and your there. More time on the water and less wrenching is always a good thing.

The keel guard up front was my idea to protect from trailering in and out. I have a wirless electric winch set up, fast and simple. Loading the boat is a breeze the guard provides a good cushion between the keel and the winch roller up front. Looks cool too.

Thanks for all the interest and comments.

Mikeb4 if you saw it in MD you know what it looked like. As soon as I can find the photos before I will put some up.

Amen brother ;) ..... It turned dark while I was crawling around it so we put a worklight on the bottom which made it look worse with the shadows .... the structure seemed ok it was the gelcoat that was a wreck.

That was a tough place to find in MD wound around back in there like that .... it's like someone sold them some waterfront property without access.

Cool,

I have one further down for beaching, thinking back, I should have bought a longer one and ran it up like that.

Now was this the boat that was for sale in MD or something like that. It was for sale on boattrader? The old hull graphics is what me think of that boat. didnt relize that it was a race layup? or did you convert it over but looks like reace layup with the cabin part.

But anyways looks good.

Boatyard1 08-19-2009 03:06 PM

Yes this boat was bought in MD It does have the race dash however you can crawl under into a finished cabin.
