What are the numbers on that prop hub? What displacement is your 425hp engine? 454 or 502 or?? When I had my 24 I tried 3, 4 , 5 blades in pitches from 21 to 27 with a few different power levels.

Also, you are on the right track if that is a gps speed and calibrated tach reading, Looks like a standard mirage 23 solid hub from the pics but I could be way off on that guess. Glad to hear you are running the boat, Must look great. Chris

We are running the original 23P 3 blade Cleaver on a 1978 24 SE and getting 69-70 mph at 5100 rpm...but we have around 500 Hp out of a 454 punched to 468... reaching that speed with a fair amount of air under the boat (little drag) on Lake Ontario...

My 24 likes a standard mirage(non-plus) for all out speed but mid-range sucks as it slips a ton. Turbo Lightning is a great all around 3-blade. Rev4 is the best handling prop but you give up a little top-speed speed.

I haven't gotten the numbers off the prop yet. It is a 454 bored 60. I believe that is a 468 ci.

YUP,

That appears to be an old standard Mirage, RPM, and speed seem about right, but how did it handle? Maybe try a mirage plus, both of those work great on my 24, but it has an outboard, so hard to tell.

I want to say thanks a lot for all the input it is a big help to me because I am new to boating and this is my first boat. the no. on my prop is 48 13244 A5 21B The rpm's go up very quick with this prop, I did try a 4 blade 25p maybe a bravo 1 not sure for only a hour and rpm's were only at 4800 and gps speed was 67 mph but I don't know if I had it trimmed out right it seemed not to handle that well but my mid range was good but slow getting on plane. I was told the boat should do 72 mph with my motor, it has at min of 425 hp.

468 c.i.
Barry grant 750
air gap intake
merlin heads with sum work done
roller tip rockers
large cam need to run dry exhaust (lost cam card)
JE pistons
all msd

I'm not too sure of that mentioned speed, but it could be right.
Same 23P mir+, 365hp:65mph / 560hp:75mph.
I liked the mir+ much better than a B1.
Btw, B1 props only come in even pitch #s.

My advise is try a 23p prop, and go from there.
Make sure all your test props are stock, and not labbed.
