That's great! congrats .... that is a nice looking boat, love the color yellow with black accents.

I hear ya on the tow home .... one time I brought a 28 Cigarette back from South Florida with a Bronco and halfway home lost a bearing & spindle on the third axle 7pm on a Sunday night. Had to chain the axle to the trailer to lift it off the road but lost a lot of the tongue weight, so 45 MPH max or swing out of control. Long ride home!

Congrats on the new ride !!! I've said it before & I will say it again if I wasn't deep in a project now that boat would have been in TN 2 years ago no b.s. Glad to hear its gonna be back in commission soon... Its a Way cool boat in my opinion !!

I have No doubt that Rick knows the area very well..;) however I know another cat that also knows that area like the back of his hand..:D.. Man I would like to be back down that way with a group of offshore boats running someday !!

Rick, we need to get together sometime so you can show us how to go boating in the Keys, particularly Holiday Isle area and the sand bar I have heard about. Would love to do that some day.

No Problem,

Got it all permanently plotted in my GPS, may be going down in 2 weeks to meet some of the outboard guys at Caribean club, and run to holiday isle:drink:

The swaying trailer, is that caused by not enough tongue weight?

bigboat28 09-08-2010 07:49 AM

Anyone going to Cumberland?

That would be my guess. My 22 Scarab had pretty much no tongue weight at all and the trailer was all over the place above 55 MPH. We moved the boat forward 3 inches on the trailer and that helped a lot.

Mike, the boat does not have black accents.
It has purple tones.
I did photoshop the boat w/ a black side stripe that SLP has used as his avatar though. :D

Post some pics, I'm not familiar with this boat. Congrats on the new ride.

Check! :lolhit: my bad ..... I hold on my comment however, love black on yellow contrast!

BB28 ... yes tongue weight can have a big effect on high speed sway ..... plus a short wheelbase truck like my Bronco at the time can be part of the problem. I would move it forward on the trailer if you can and check all the normal maintenance stuff. Someone offers a sway control add on system but I have never used it before. Our new Ford trucks and Expeditions are getting electronic trailer sway control standard along with cross wind correction..... pretty cool for towing.
