Even if ya just sit on the sandbar and watch them leave and come back, lots of sights around Haulover that weekend

I dunno,

Seems to be that there is nobody to step up and organize it, I am too far away, and have no knowledge of the area. If we were to do the first one local to me(as was originally planned) so that we can get some experience organizing this thing, I would step up to the plate(with some help from the other locals) and make some arrangements. I was simply stating that I WILL be on the sandbar, and around the cut for both of those races, and if anyone wanted to join in, it would be a good time. I am not trying to take away from the Destin run, but to be honest with ya, it is still about a 12 hour ride for the South FL boys, and with this economy I don't see too many making the trek, and also don't blame the northerners and westerners for not wanting to spend the coin.

I think time and location was still open for discussion and that is why waiting for other owners to chime in was brought up. The idea spot would be where the most Pantera boats could gather and that is when our planning started heading north to make it more central. I guess a starting point would be, does the factory want and have the time to get involved? Pepe and Joe know where most of there customers are and maybe we could make a invitation flyer. If not then wherever we could get the most boats and hopefully Joe and Pepe are able to make it, with a new 41' of course . Also after reading other posts, timing our gathering along with a pokerrun, race, etc seems like a good idea. The economy has been bad, fuel prices are up (3.70 for diesel today), and there seems to be alot of boats down this year. Hopefully we can pull this togeather even if it dont happen this year. Just my two cents and happy new year. JAIMEM24

Seems like lots of Pantera owners up north in MI... I was hoping that you guys would have it at someplace further north- like Lake Cumberland, or one of the great lakes (Erie). That way I could come and check out all them Panteras

Either way, I want to see lots of pics when you guys do have the get together.

So maybe as the "Owners Rally" sorts itself out... perhaps in the mean time. what might be kinda interesting is if we all post what Events we are all planning to attend this coming year?

Then it would easy to see who all would be gathering where?
And whether its in Florida.... Michigan or the MidAtlantic or NorthEast. It might serve as a exercise to help Pantera Owners get together on their own local Turf?

Just a thought... I know I am strongly consideirng attending some of the following Events this year, can't do them all but its a list to choose from, and choice is good in my book:

Awakening of the Horses - May 20th (Donzi Event)
Smith Mountain Lake - May 20th
Spring DustOff- Lake George NY - June 17th (Donzi Event)
Jamming On the James - July 9th
Lake Winni Poker Run - July 29th (Donzi Event)
Powerboatting For a Cure - July 29th
Thunder In The City Poker Run - Chesapeake City July 29th
Emerald Coast Poker Run - Destin, Fla August 12th
Fall Family Picnic - Lake George NY - Sept 9th (Donzi Event)

Plus whatever local runs come up... here is a concept, in Mid August there is the Emerald Coast Poker Run...which is one of the Nations Best Events...and its all in the area we were discussing earlier.

Why not just attend that as a strong Pantera contingent and enjoy the Event that is already organized, professionally and all thought out and it benefits the local community down there?

Looks like there is a typical fee for entry for a First Class Event... but you get what you pay for when it comes to a well organized Run?

Just some more thoughts to give you all some ideas? It really doesn't have to be any more complicated than a group of us all showing up.

Hell I know in doing the Rock the Bay Run up here on the Chesapeake Bay, its one of the areas largest attended Events, they must get 12 Outerlimits, and 15 Sunsations, and 12 Donzis... I could go on and on... who would complain if a group of the same manf. show's up and participates in the Event.

I think its a No Brainer for anyone in Florida... there are so many really great and well organized Events down there, and around the country.

The Emerald Coast Run and the group that run it do a terrific job.

Like anything you gotta pay to play...but I can tell you outside of a few random low key runs that just seem to come together, you are pretty much gauranteed a great time when its put together by experienced people. They got the kinks worked out, they know the logistics, they understand lodging and food and drinks and entertainment, as well above all making it a Safe Event?

Nothing puts the skids on a Run quicker than an accident or a fatality. Thankfully they are the exceptions - rather than the rule. Powerboaters or Performance Boaters get a bad wrap for what we drive...but the fact is, most of us are pretty good operators and run a tight rig and crew at the Events. Of course we all know of exceptions...but most of us would not think twice about towing another or helping with Tools or Parts if we have to get someone back in the game or safely back to the ramp or Harbor.

Just Saying - the Year is new... don't throw in the towel already?

A late Summer run in August might work better for Angel anyway and this was his idea?
